Incident in Margeaux Place
At approximately 11:45 p.m. Saturday night, my wife heard something outside our house. She dismissed it when she did not hear anything else. At approximately 7:00 a.m., I got up to get the paper when I noticed a White Chevrolet Tahoe in front of my house with a white male in his late 20's sitting in the driver's seat.
After observing this guy for approximately 15 minutes he exited the vehicle and stumbled his way into my back yard. It appeared that he may have slept in my back yard. I know he used the bathroom in my back yard (and he didn't pick up after himself).
At that time I decided to call Little Rock Police and continue to observe the guy. Five minutes later, he stumbled his way to my front door. He introduced himself as Barrett McAlister and stated he worked for Landers in Benton . He had no shoes or socks on and several facial, hand and arm lacerations. He stated that he didn't know how he ended up in my yard and that he woke up in my yard without his pants on. Once LRPD arrived this story was repeated to them.
His vehicle had jumped the curve in front of my house and ran over trash bags containing lawn clippings. He had damaged to the right front fender and quarter panel of his vehicle. It appeared that he had recently struck something red or maroon. If you have any damage to your red or maroon vehicle or your mail box, this may be the guy who caused it.
Further, I decided to put a lock on the gate that he entered my back yard. I generally would not have done this because it is the gate that we frequently use to enter our back yard. This is simply a small piece of inconvenience for added security. Now I know if I find a stranger in my back yard his intentions are somewhat known. I would implore others to take a look at securing all access to their back yards as well. This had the potential to end somewhat differently.
I am including photographs of the vehicle if they are needed. Apparently this guy had been parked here for a long time and I am curious if anyone saw him last night or this morning.
