In issue number 125 of RGHF's Our Foundation newsletter we reach the end of another Rotary year.
Much has been accomplished this year but so much is yet to be undertaken. We present the latest news from your very own Foundation, assembled into one comprehensive resource tool.
Many of the inspiring project stories this month comes from an area of the world we are all too familiar with and yet, maybe, we are not fully aware of what Rotary is doing within this vast expanse - China.
In recent years, Rotary service projects in China date back to the early eighties. Rotary clubs from Hong Kong and Macau, for example, have worked closely with China by coordinating with a Chinese Liaison Office, the Civil Affairs Ministry and many local officials.
It is estimated by Rotary District 3450 (Hong Kong, Macau and Mongolia) that through its many Rotary clubs -and, of course, with the help of The Rotary Foundation - they have provided over 300 projects at a total cost of at least US$1.5 Billion.
There is truly no region of the world that is out of touch with, or out of reach to, Rotary.
May 2012/13 bring Peace through Service.
Best wishes,
Calum
