As I tell the story of the Rotary Peace Centers I am continually shocked by the lack of knowledge about the Rotary Peace Program. Rotary's Peace Program is an important - but very silent initiative.
My friends often tell me, "... why should we donate to the Rotary Centers Major Gifts Initiative (RCMGI) when we are not sure if it is an effective program. Show us it's working!"
This June 15, Our Foundation newsletter is dedicated to showing you the power of the Rotary Peace Program. I've compiled a small portion of the many outcomes/stories of the Peace Center Program. Look through this issue and I know you will be extremely proud of Rotary, its Peace Fellows and how the Peace Program continues to make a difference in our World.
June 30 marks the end of my TRF appointment as the Chair of the Rotary Centers Major Gifts Initiative, which has the goal of raising US$95millon dollars (by June 30, 2015) to help endow Rotary's Peace Program. At this time almost US$47 million has been contributed/raised.
I am thankful to have met and worked with so many dedicated and committed Rotarians and I sincerely thank all for your support, encouragement and major gifts to the Peace Initiative. Please join me in welcoming the new Chair of the Rotary Centers Major Gifts Initiative - Past RI Director Paul Netzel, and in wishing him great success in this TRF appointment.
As always, we welcome any comments you may have as we strive to improve and to increase our ability to tell the stories of Our Foundation.
