Camp Director, David Campbell |
Prayers I have asked for: Over the years I have asked countless people to pray about making gifts of time (prayer) and talent, financial support or working at Camp Marshall. My belief being that when we pray Christ calls us into action to serve his people for the sake of our relationship with God. What a blessing!
For those of you who have accepted the challenge to pray and then respond in faith I wish to covey my deepest thanks. Over the last fifteen summers all of those who have stepped up to this challenge have become the hands and feet of Christ Jesus who have literally resurrected the ministry of Camp Marshall.
A recent prayer in my own life: On June first of this year I was in receipt of an e-mail announcing the position of Executive Director for All Saints Episcopal Camp in the Diocese of Dallas, Texas. While I have seen many such openings in the last fourteen years this announcement caught my attention so I decided to pray about the opportunity.
I definitely experienced the blessing of God in the prayer so I threw my hat in the ring for the position. This prayer, followed by many others, encouraged me to send in a letter of interest, then to an interview, then a personal meeting with the Suffragan Bishop Paul E. Lambert of Dallas and finally a visit to Dallas on August 3 - 8 where Geri and I both toured the camp and met many of it's staff with Dr. Charles Wallace and then drove to Dallas where Bishop Lambert introduced Geri and I to most of the diocesan staff. This ultimately led to my accepting the position for Executive Director of All Saints Camp in the Diocese of Dallas, Texas on the morning of August 8th 2012. Geri and I are both very excited about where God is calling us and pray all of you share this joy with us as we move into this new ministry.
When our move will happen: Due to Camp All Saints hectic schedule it is necessary for us to leave much earlier than we would prefer since we have been building friendships here in Montana for so many years. We hope to arrive in our new location in the early part of September when the camp will be going into full gear with it's fall schedule.
You are invited: Because of this hectic schedule Geri and I will be having our final camp fire on August 20th during the Alumni weekend. Unfortunately our housing for the Alumni Weekend is booked up unless you bring a tent or trailer. Please feel free to join us after dinner at Camp Marshall between 7:30 and 8:00 p.m. we will begin the closing campfire below the lodge for an evening of music and memories.

Finally, I wish to convey my deepest thanks to Bishop Brookhart for his support of both Geri and I in the ministries we have been serving in the Diocese of Montana. I will continue to pray for and support Bishop Brookhart and all of you who are serving Jesus Christ as we begin our new life in Texas.
Yours in Christ,
David Campbell
