Questions to ask in a new year:

  

Required Training:

  • Is your vestry up to speed with Safeguarding God's Children Policies? 
  • Have all of your church leaders (all of them)  completed the required training in Safeguarding policies for preventing Sexual Abuse or Exploitation in a church setting? (different than the Safeguarding God's Children)
  • Have all of your church leaders completed the required anti-racism training?
  • Are all of your leaders who work with children or youth trained in Safeguarding God's Children and have a  complete criminal background check?
  • Does your church treasurer know what is required?
  • Has your priest been trained in Title IV?

Visioning: 

  • Does your congregation want a day camp program in your community this summer?
  • Does your congregation need help "re-thinking" or "visioning" new ministries?
  • Do your leaders need a chance to better learn their role in working on a vestry?
  • Are there members of your congregation considering the deaconate?
  • Is your congregation looking for new ways to be vital and strong with a solid stewardship program?
  • Do you have people who wish to be trained as worship leaders or desire to be trained as Eucharistic Ministers/Visitors.
  • Can your congregation do more with social outreach?

These and other questions will be addressed in the upcoming Ministry Skills Workshops.  Please make time to understand what is available.  Then, register for the February weekend today!

The latest news on the Ministry Skills Workshop Number One!

If you would like to learn more about the Ministry Skills Workshop Number One please follow the link to the "ALL NEW" Christian Formation Web-page for the Episcopal Diocese of Montana.
Safeguarding God's Children is now available online.  This class is FREE and is really open to anyone. Once you register there is a three to five business day waiting period while we generate a Personal Identification Number for you at the Diocesan Office.  Once we have that, we will send you what you need to take this free online class.  
 
In my opinion, our church would be a safer place if we all took the class.  So, if you are wondering if or when you should sign up I would encourage you to make the decision right now.  Education is free, ignorance is not....

 Registration includes dinner on Thursday and lunch on both Friday and Saturday.

 

**The Hosting Site has been granted funds by the Episcopal Diocese of Montana and is generously offering a $100 scholarship to all Diocesan participants.**
