It has been an exciting few weeks of firsts in the world of BodyTalk. The first web based instructors conference was a success, proving the benefits of online seminars. Here at BodyTalk Unlimited, we are half way through our first downloadable audio lecture series. With the new forum in the online classroom it brings students together from around the globe and our goal of providing practitioner support tools is being realized.
The 'No Limits' article in the last newsletter struck a chord for many readers, a reminder that we are only limited by how open we are to potential. As we look beyond what we know to what is truly possible, there really are No Limits! Our next generation take this for granted, as some of our most talented BodyTalkers are proving to be the young. We receive many heart warming stories about kids working with BodyTalk. I've shared my own story about my son Max in an article below.
In the latest audio downloads I discuss ways you can truly reach your potential, both as a practitioner and as a person.
Denise from Canada wrote in to say - "Many, many thanks for the wonderful newsletter every month".
Nancy from Canada sent us a note to say - "Hi All. I am really enjoying the info packed newsletters. Also what is apparent are Dr Ka'imi's 3 H's. Humour, Honesty, Humility. Cheers and keep up the great work."
Thank you for your kind comments and keep your
feedback coming. We love hearing from you.
With that, I'll leave you with the words of Marianne Williamson "We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?" - Ka'imi and the BodyTalk Unlimited Team

The Youngest BodyTalker in the World
|
We often talk about how expectations shape our reality, but it is really difficult for us to change our expectations. Our world view has built up over many years, and we only change our minds slowly. Children only know what they've seen so far, so their world view is very flexible. They just simply don't know enough about what is and is not possible to be bound by what we think we 'know' about the world. So their capacity for miracles can be pretty amazing.
One of my students in Hawaii taught BodyTalk to her 4 year old son, and he was soon tapping everything. At first he stuck to tapping out his sister, the dog, and other family members. Then he found a broken toy at the second-hand shop. He convinced his mother to buy it with the argument that maybe it just needed a new battery. It was truly broken and a battery didn't help. So he followed the protocol and tapped it out and within a day it was fixed! He repeated this feat with broken toy after broken toy from the second-hand shop. He saved his family a small fortune in new toys because he wasn't educated enough to realize that inanimate objects can't heal.
My two and half year old son, Max, has grown up with the reality that injuries can be tapped out. Often for minor bumps or knocks I just treat the injury as stored kinetic energy and pull out the kinetic energy using a technique I learned from my manual therapy training. So that is also his reality and when he falls down he pulls out the energy of the fall himself. His teacher at preschool told me that Max ran into some playground equipment at full-speed and they thought for sure that would have a bruise, but then they saw him pulling at his head, and within moments he was acting like nothing had ever happened.
Recently, I had a bad earache and my wife, Sarah was giving me a BodyTalk. When it came to tap out, Max came over and started tapping me. As soon as he joined the tapping I started shaking and shuddering as waves of energy flowed through me. It was one of the most powerful balancings I have ever received. When it was over I had to sleep for several hours, and when I woke up the earache was gone! Thank goodness Sarah knows BodyTalk and can get a good formula, and thank goodness Max is too young to understand limitations.
The next generation of BodyTalkers will take it to a whole new level. If you have a story about a budding BodyTalker, we'd love to hear it!

What is Your Intention?
|
In the June newsletter, I announced the research on distant healing that I presented at the ISSSEEM conference, and made available a short paper summarizing the project. I have also recorded the lecture that I gave at the ISSSEEM conference and this is also now available for download from the Resources page on our website.
One of the questions of the conference theme was 'Does prayer healing work and how can it be improved upon?' Prayer healing is a form of sending intention, and has well-documented beneficial effects. BodyTalk uses a systematic protocol to discover an individualized healing suggestion or intention, so it qualifies as intention based healing. Our results showed that all test subjects had improvement, which is much better than the results obtained through prayer. To try to analyze this, a prayer is a sincere suggestion that somebody heal. This sometimes works. Just the message that somebody cares and they think that you can heal may be enough to trigger the healing process. But if this was always enough the protocol chart could be really simple: "Say HEAL then tap." This is relying on faith to activate the healing process. And it will work in some cases. But sometimes the innate wisdom will respond with "I'd like to heal, but how?" A link formula in BodyTalk says essentially "You can heal, IF you work on balancing coordination of activities in this area or system of the body." This gets far better results, so yes we have to learn a protocol if we want consistent results.
There is another aspect of BodyTalk practice that I address in the lecture: doing BodyTalk seems to be good for the spiritual growth of the practitioner. Why? Because the combination of the protocol and the muscle-checking allows us to get answers from collective consciousness, and this gives experiential evidence of the idea that consciousness is connected. I had no verbal or visual contact with the test subjects in the research study. I was given their name and that they were being scanned and were ready for treatment. I then followed the protocol and sent the sessions silently. The only plausible source of the answers is collective consciousness and the only plausible explanation for the results they received from my sessions is that they received the suggestions through collective consciousness. This is really significant, because it provides tangible evidence that consciousness is connected at a distance. Doing BodyTalk gives a felt experience that all consciousness is connected: 'We really are One - what a relief!' And that is the teaching of all spiritual traditions, albeit in differing language. This felt experience helps to quiet the left-brain which is always questioning everything - 'Connection is a pretty idea, but where's the proof?' So doing BodyTalk gives an experience of connection that can support the spiritual path of the practitioner.
So my research actually gave evidence to address the larger theme of the ISSSEEM conference: is there scientific evidence to support spiritual teachings and spiritual practice? This is why the formal title of my lecture was 'Clinical Evidence of Consciousness Connection at a Distance.' The lecture itself is much more interesting and approachable than the title - you can download the lecture from our website at www.bodytalkunlimited.com/resources.html

"I have had a successful BodyTalk practice for 4 years and have met many challenging situations, worked out how to explain various things and put into practice techniques I have learned from courses. I thought that this series would be interesting, but it has transformed the way I look at my practice. I have made changes already to improve my client's BodyTalk sessions. Since commencing the course 2-3 new clients are ringing a week. It is hard to explain the shift that has occurred and we are only half way through! Thank you Ka'imi for bringing all these challenges together into one series. It is powerful." - Hilary, CBI from Auckland, New Zealand
"I listened to the lecture 'I'm in the Miracles Business'. I put the lecture on my MP3 and took it on my walk. I left at 5.45 am one morning with my MP3 player in my ears. It was pouring down with rain. I listened to Ka'imi and walked. I kept walking until the lecture was finished. I was spellbound. It was as if Ka'imi's voice came over as wonderful energy. I was soaked that morning and feeling very exhilerated. I am truly grateful that Ka'imi is taking the time to do the lectures. Thank you Ka'imi." - Ingrid, CBI, Nelson, New Zealand

Last US TCM of the Year Irving TX, 8th-10th October Early Bird Rate Expires 10th September |
The theory behind BodyTalk IS Chinese Medicine. My background in Chinese Medicine helps me to have a deeper understanding of the links that come up in sessions. This adds both power and focus, and the ability to explain how the link relates to the client and their condition.
As most practitioners don't have training in Chinese Medicine they are not able to understand or explain their sessions fully. I wrote this course to help people actually be in practice. Feedback from students that have taken the course is that their clients really respond to hearing the Chinese Medicine definitions, and that their sessions become more focused and powerful.
In this course I have condensed a great deal of insight from a 4 year degree along with my years of clinical practice into a format that people that can get and really use in just 3 days.
I hope that you will join me on this exciting weekend. - Ka'imi

How do you address blood deficiency?
Although Blood deficiency sounds alarming it is a common Chinese Medicine pattern. Many people have it to some degree or another and symptoms can be as mild as baldness on the top of the head (yours truly included) to more serious issues such as tiredness, dizziness, tremors, blackouts and muscle spasms. Blood in Chinese Medicine has a simpler description than the western physiological description of all the various constituents. Blood in Chinese medicine is made from Food Qi, Air Qi, and Essence. Of course you need water, and what we call dehydration is Blood deficiency in Chinese Medicine. This means that you should eat well, take care of yourself, drink enough water and get enough rest. Eating well means eating freshly prepared food, but it also means avoiding cold food and drink as cold robs Qi from the digestion. And it is as important to create a relaxing mealtime as it is to eat good food - taking time to nurture and nourish yourself rather just feeding yourself is something a lot of people find hard to do in the modern age. So meditation, rest and play are very important to build your blood. When I manage my schedule well and take time to play and rest and eat unhurried meals I start to grow hair again. When I get too busy and push myself too hard I lose it again - but those moments of little sprouting hairs give me hope and let me know that I am not a victim of genes for male pattern baldness, that I can cure it if I can only commit to myself more fully. I've made progress on this issue, but like many practitioners, I give more than I receive, which is another clue to Blood deficiency.
Ann Kressin asks - Can you discuss your experience with Multiple Sclerosis, and any suggestions or general comments about using BodyTalk and TCM to treat it?
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a very difficult disease to analyze from an allopathic perspective. There is very little understanding of the causes of the condition, and hence no clear treatments. This is why I like to look at it from a Chinese Medicine perspective instead. Then many of the common symptoms such as numbness, tingling, weakness, spasms all look like signs of Blood deficiency. Even the limitation of cognitive function that occurs in some cases fits in with Blood deficiency. And in practice, I see lots of work around various issues with the Spleen/Pancreas and associated consciousness issues come up frequently when working with MS clients. This improves the ability to build Blood by improving the digestion. The Liver also plays a big role in maintaining adequate Blood, so issues that affect the Liver come up often.
I have worked with a number of MS cases over the years. I have seen significant results in all cases, and have seen complete remission in one case. There are lots of variations to the sessions, but I hope this gives a starting point on how to think about these issues. |
