This issue has to do with COSTING -- specifically Copier/Digital costing. Many users are unfamiliar on the process I use to determine your EXACT cost on the copier/digital equipment. Please read below and learn how I can help you determine your COST per copy!

Copier/Digital Costing

  

Although PrintSmith does come with a costing matrix to fill out (see below picture), I choose not to use it when I set up COSTING for my clients. The main reason is that one can not, with any degree of accuracy determine the percentage of use a machine is in use.

 

If you were to change the percentage of use from 40% to 75%, you're cost would change from 0.0149 per copy to 0.0133 per copy!

 

Without giving you all of my knowledge, I determine your exact cost per copy by taking your ACTUAL copy costs and clicks over a 6-12 month period. This takes longer to calculate, however, it is much more accurate. This is what I do when I am onsite and giving users my knowledge and support. With my accounting background, we calculate not only your copier costs but ALL of your costs and give you a better picture on how to quote and make money!
