In this issue I will discuss the new folding charge that is part of 8.1x. A lot of users don't know how to use it properly.

These scanners work nicely with TRACKER and of course with updating your Pending List automatically. I look forward to your feedback and also your comments for additional email blasts. | New Folding Charge in PrintSmith |
Since 8.1 was introduced, you can now print a copy of the folding diagram on your cutting sheet which can be printing with your job ticket -- see below for a sample. In order to do this, the method should be "folding" and then a drop down menu will appear by the new "fold style". These new folding templates can not be changed and although they are pretty complete, I would recommend PrintSmith allow the users to choose a template for the job rather than in the charge definitions. The way it is working now, you would have to set up multiple folding charges, each with their own diagram, even though the prices may be the same. I would prefer one charge and then change the diagram to fit the job. Below is what the charge should look like: In any event, once used, and if you print out the paper calculator with the job ticket, the folding diagram will also appear. |
| Did your Sales Tax increase? |
Did your sales tax increase on Jan 1st? If so, you will have to change the sales tax in PrintSmith. Go to Pricing -> Sales Tax and make the changes here. Remember, once changes are made, you will need to update pricing so that the workstations will all have the correct tax. ALSO, the new tax will only affect new invoices written, so make sure you update all pending invoices. |

PUSH subscribers receive a "special" phone number that will be manned virtually 24/7 and calls will be returned immediately. | Bar Code Scanners available | |
I sell the traditional bar code scanners that are hand held and plug (USB) into a workstation. One bar code scanner per workstation.
I also sell the wireless type, with a range of about 100 yards. They also plug into a workstation, but with the range, they can be used by multiple employees. If you go out of range, you can still scan, and when you are back in range, they "sink" with PrintSmith.
These scanners are really nice, and although alittle expensive, they save money by eliminating a few scanners and also by utilizing them, you keep track of where every job is in your shop!
