Certified PROFIBUS training

The next opportunity to get certified as a PROFIBUS Installer and/or Engineer will be at MMU's Training Week commencing March 19th. Presently, there are several places available but these are often snapped up very quickly.

Designed to help candidates reach their fullest potential in just a week, the week covers the  Certified PROFIBUS Installer course - which is pre-requisite, the Commissioning & Maintenance module, the newly-introduced  System Design module and finally the Certified PROFIBUS Engineer  Course.

To register please call Ann on +44 207 193 8018 to check availability for this or future opportunities.

PS - These courses can also be delivered at your premises for groups of 6 or more. Ask for details.
Certified Installer - Distance Learning system

Correction

In the last newsletter we gave the misleading impression that part of the tests can be taken without actually having to attend MMU. That's not the case, for reasons of accreditation integrity, the actual exams still need to be taken at MMU, but the time spent there is reduced to an afternoon.

Really, it's a new way to study for the Certified PROFIBUS Installer course using Distance Learning technology with a built-in progressive assessment system.

Distance Learning enables candidates to study the course content at their own pace, taking the theory and practical assessment tests only when ready.

Online content

The course is divided into 8 topics/aspects:
1: Introduction to PROFIBUS
2: Grounding, Shielding and Cable Segregation
3: Cables, Connectors and Wiring Test
4: Practical session: build a cable, wiring test and fault-finding
5: Reflections and Termination
6: Network Topology and Segmentation
7: Spot the Errors
8: Quizzes

Greetings!

Welcome to the fifth issue of PROFINEWS UK in 2012, bringing you a quick summary of news and events in and around the UK.

With new EU rules about web and internet privacy coming into effect in May, I'd like to advise you that it's possible that our newsletter system uses a technology called Open Tracking to monitor and improve your email experience by helping us to ensure that the content is well-received. That's all that it's for but if you are worried about it, then it's very easy to un-subscribe using the link at the bottom of this newsletter. We'd be sorry to lose you of course.

Thanks.

Practical aspects of PROFIBUS in Process Seminar
April 17th at Endress+Hauser, Manchester

There are still a few places available at our Manchester event, but hurry they're filling fast!  (The next opportunity probably won't be until November 8th when we're presenting a similar event at WWEM, Telford. )

This highly practical seminar addresses the key issues arising from the use of digital fieldbus communications technologies in process and hybrid industries.

With 50% of the seminar time dedicated to live demonstrations and most of the remainder taken up with practical advice based on actual experience, the programme will be of great value to Instrument Technicians/Engineers,C&I Engineers and System Engineers involved in design, operation and maintenance of modern process plant.

Attendance is free of charge to pre-registered delegates from the User community, i.e. companies that own, operate, design, build or maintain process plant.

If you'd like to learn how to simplify your PROFIBUS process application ... don't miss this one-day Practical Aspects of Profibus in Process Seminar!
