2012 PROFIBUS and PROFINET training schedule
The PROFIBUS Group has published the 2012 Training Schedule featuring Certified PROFIBUS or PROFINET training, plus other specialised courses.
In addition to the popular Training Weeks at MMU, the programme offers a new modular approach to Certified PROFIBUS Engineer status. Trainees can now elect to attain the Certified Engineer accreditation in 2 tranches of 2 and 3 days a month or two apart. This is intended to enable busy workers to fit their training around their work schedules and assimilate newly acquired knowledge before moving to the next stage.

MSc in Industrial Communication and Automation ...
... features PROFIBUS & PROFINET
MMU is launching a new MSc programme in September 2012 to reflect the rapid uptake of field-level networking and Ethernet-based technologies in factories and process plant. The new Master programme will reflect the evolution from an enterprise infrastructure comprising of islands of instruments and sub-systems to an infrastructure of networked smart devices and systems.
The course offers successful students accreditation as Certified PROFIBUS Engineer and Certified PROFINET Engineer in addition to their MSc Industrial Communication and Automation.

Certified OPC Professional Courses
 Following the success of the OPC workshops presented in September, MMU has again teamed up with The OPC Training Institute to host two more hands-on workshops in March 2012. Level 1 will be on 27/28 and Level 2 29/30th.
These courses feature the use of PROFINET applications and devices and provide Automation professionals with the right skills to properly utilize OPC technology to improve plant efficiency and control. The workshops are designed for and very pertinent to:
(1) DCS engineers
(2) Database engineers: People who are interested in real-time production data
(3) Other data historian/archiving engineers: those who know PI, AspenTech InfoPlus21, Siemens/Honeywell/ABB Historian systems.
(4) PLC engineers who need data from PLC to Excel or other Microsoft office applications.
