Practical Aspects of PROFIBUS and PROFINET - free seminars

Process Automation focus - Manchester June 23, Glasgow June 28;

Factory Automation focus - Glasgow June 29

You're still in time - just - to book a place at our free seminars next week! These address the key practical issues arising from the use of digital communications technologies in process and industrial automation.

Practical Aspects of PROFIBUS in Factory Automation covers the use of PROFIBUS and PROFINET in key application areas such as packaging, printing, electrical and electronics assembly, robotics, automotive engineering, drives, mechanical handling and logistics, control systems and energy management.  It focuses on the practical aspects of using PROFIBUS and PROFINET in factory automation applications from system design and safety considerations through to maintenance and fault-finding.

Practical Aspects of PROFIBUS in Process is structured for instrument technicians/engineers,C&I engineers and system engineers involved in design, operation and maintenance of modern process plant.  It covers the use of PROFIBUS PA in key application areas such as Pulp & Paper, chemical, utilities, pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas.

Both events devote some 50% of the seminar time to live demonstrations and deliver practical advice based on actual experience.

Sensors & Systems - for Control & Instrumentation

The PROFIBUS Group will be presenting two papers at the all-new

Sensors & Systems - for Control & Instrumentation show that will take place at the 5 star FIVE venue in Farnborough over the 14th and 15th September 2011. Filling the need for a technical platform for the ever-growing subject of sensors and systems, the event is designed to embrace control & instrumentation, test & measurement, calibration, data acquisition and analysis.

Starting at 3.00 pm on 14th September, Paul Chapple of Murrelektronik will be presenting "5 Essential Factors to Consider when Implementing Profibus/Profinet" which looks at the many factors to consider when planning a Profibus/Profinet installation, such as environment, IO types, customer specifications and reaction times and look at how they affect the whole design concept and the life-cycle costs of the system.

Andy Verwer of VTC Ltd will follow up with "Automated communications and device monitoring on PROFIBUS networks", a presentation exploring how monitoring devices can be integrated into existing SCADA and maintenance systems to provide automated notification and remote diagnosis of errors.

For more information on the event please visit www.sensorsandsystems.co.uk or contact Gail Downham on 01822 614671 or email her.

Certified OPC Professional Courses featuring PROFINET

OPC level 227 - 30 September

MMU has teamed up with The OPC Training Institute to host two hands-on OPC workshops featuring the use of PROFINET applications and devices.

The Certified OPC Professional (COP) courses provide Automation professionals with the right skills to properly utilize OPC technology to improve plant efficiency and control. Each course offers practical hands-on experience you can apply immediately. Graduates will know exactly how to setup (or troubleshoot) an OPC connection and make it secure the instant they enter the plant. The courses cover Level 1 and Levle 2 and last two days each.
