On Thursday 22nd April 2010, Irwin Hodgkiss, a much
loved and long-serving member of the UK Steering Committee, died with his family
around him. He will be sadly missed.
Irwin was one of those people that brought a great deal of pleasure to
those that knew him. Always the perfect gentleman, he was renowned for his great
sense of humour and kindly, tolerant manner.
Irwin made a tremendous contribution to the development
of PROFIBUS in the UK. It was largely at his suggestion that the PROFIBUS
Conference was launched in 2004.
Attendees at exhibitions and of course the PROFIBUS Conference will probably
remember Irwin best as the friendly, helpful man on the Burkert stand.
So here's to Irwin, a great man and a great character
and now a great loss to us all.
