Did you miss our Free Seminars?
Our recent "Practical Aspects of PROFIBUS and PROFINET" seminars were very attended, with over 100 people attending in two locations to find out the benefits of PROFIBUS and PROFINET in Factory or Process automation.
For the benefit of anybody that would have liked to attend but could not due to problems with dates or location, we will be running them again next Spring, this time in the south of England and then in the north in the Autumn.
In the meantime, the presentations are available for download from the Training Courses page of our Conference and Training website.

Training places available ...
There are still a few places available on the following scheduled courses at MMU:
Certified
PROFIBUS Installer Course - 23rd November & 8th December
An essential course for electrical
engineers and technicians needing to upgrade their skills to include fieldbus
installation. This one-day, hands-on course teaches the design, installation
and testing of complete PROFIBUS networks including DP, PA and optical fibre
technology. Covering bus layout and termination, grounding rules and practices,
the course will teach delegates how to avoid common, but potentially expensive,
installation problems. The course is essential preparation to the Certified Engineer and Commissioning and Maintenance courses. More info
Certified
Installer + PROFIBUS Engineer - 23-27 November
For engineers wishing to build their
careers around PROFIBUS in either industrial or process automation, companies
wanting to benchmark their technical staff or consultants seeking a recognised
professional qualification in industrial and process networking, this is the ideal opportunity to train for an internationally-recognised qualification as a Certified PROFIBUS
Engineer. More info
PROFIBUS
Installer + Commissioning & Maintenance
Course - 8-9 December
Covers the practical techniques of faultfinding on "operational"
PROFIBUS networks. Techniques
taught on the course include the use of a modern PROFIBUS analyser and Class-II
master (engineering tool) to diagnose network faults, device faults and I/O
problems. Students also learn how to use a soft digital storage oscilloscope in
conjunction with these tools to diagnose and accurately locate cable, connection
and device faults.

Do I need PROFINET Training?
Following growing interest in the use of PROFINET, MMU has kindly provided us with a list of example questions on PROFINET that students on the Certified PROFINET Engineer Course should be able to answer on successful completion of the course.
You can find these questions and more about the course on the MMU website at www.sci-eng.mmu.ac.uk/ascent/training_courses/profinet/default.asp - Check PROFINET Try-out Questions on the right hand column.
