  2. Print and share this email. Please share this information with anyone else who has access to your QuickBooks or QuickBooks Payroll products.

As always, please contact Tammy or Wanda for assistance. We will be happy to help you. If we don't have the answers, we will find out for you.

Edit QuickBooks Templates for a Professional Look and to Gather Data

The foundations for many QuickBooks forms such as Invoices, Statements, Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, etc. are called "Templates" and can be modified to greatly enhance their appearance, and maybe even more importantly, to collect valuable information for your reports. The templates can be edited by rearranging the fields, adding additional text blocks and graphics, moving/deleting/adding columns, adding fields for data collection, and "custom" data (user-defined) fields (which may be the most important fields in your database).

We typically tell new Clients to make a "Wish List" of the reports they would like to have available in their QuickBooks file. This begins the process of determining what data must be gathered. From here, we can go to the Lists menu, Templates, double-click on a template, and modify the Template to meet the needs of that specific company. It is extremely rare that data you need to manage and grow your business cannot be gathered through the multiple QuickBooks databases. The beginning point for gathering that valuable information is often working with the Templates. There is also an option for downloading additional templates from the Web, with polished ready-to-use designs.
