Government Affairs

The Chamber's Government Affairs page has now been updated with information regarding the upcoming Housing Element Update joint session of the City Council and the Planning Commission.  You'll also find information there about the Proposed Water Rate Increase, as well as information on how to go about protesting the increase.

State

I received the following from Senator Huff's representative David Monroy, and wanted to pass it along. If you're interested, the Budget Summary prepared by the Legislative Analyst's Office is available on the Chamber website HERE.

Senator Bob Huff is one of two Republicans selected to serve on the Senate Budget Conference Committee. This committee will be THE committee where each party's budget version will be reviewed and reconciled with the other. As the debates move forward, the Senator will be looking to groups and individuals for insight as to the impact of current legislation and budget proposals. With that said, in preparation for the budget conference committee and the ongoing budget discussions Senator Huff has directed staff to offer this simple survey to your Chamber members to complete and return to us via email. Responses to these questions will add greatly to the ongoing discussions and provide us strong examples to the impact of these measures.

Please reply to this survey by sending your responses to one of Senator Huff's representatives David Monroy (david.monroy@sen.ca.gov) or Brett Meyer (Brett.Meyer@sen.ca.gov).

Thank you in advance for your help in this matter and please let me know if you have any questions.

Respectfully,

DM

SURVEY QUESTIONS:

1) Is the state of the economy having a positive or negative effect on your business?
2) What are the main legislative problems that are hindering you from creating jobs?
3) What would be the number one legislative solution that would help you create more jobs?
4) Would you be willing to either testify, go speak to the press, or write a letter about your issue and its effect on job creation?

media we receive and generally retain for several months.  Maybe, we can help you find the answer to a question.  Check in with us.  We're here to help.  Do you have a newsletter?  Let us know.  We'll subscribe, and maybe we can help another member find that you are the answer to their need....
