Friday Night Live

For seven weeks, beginning July 17th, The Chamber of Commerce, with help from sponsors and members, presented Friday Night Live, a community event featuring live music in Kersting Court, sales promotions at participating downtown businesses, and drawings, gifts, prizes and giveaways donated by participating Chamber members and sponsors.

Nearly 100 hundred totebags were given to shoppers that spent $35 or more in participating retail shops or $75 or more in participating restaurants.   While we did not track sales for all seven weeks, we do know that the six weeks we tracked included sales in excess of $6,200.  Adding the minimum dollar amount for the first week, when we didn't track the receipts, brings total sales to more than $6,700!!

Highest number of receipts among those tracked was Savor the Flavor, with 22.  Iris Intrigue was second with 11.  Among the restaurants, Lucky Baldwin was tops with 5, followed by Cafe 322 with 3.

We've posted some short video clips of three of the performers on YouTube.  Here are links:

Thank you to all our Sponsors, and to all those who contributed their time, energy and product to make this a successful event!!!  Thank you to the merchants for staying open late!  Some of you benefited directly, but we believe that even those that didn't see the immediate benefits may have benefited by return visits and/or increased awareness of the downtown area and your store.
