Greetings! Heidi Elliott

I hope you enjoy this issue of Growing the Beanstalk, the newsletter of Beanstalk Marketing. This issue is all about why I don't blog. I would love to hear from you. Let me know what you think. I will respond to every email or tweet.

 I Don't Blog

There are over 133 million bloggers today. But I'm not one of them. "Everyone SHOULD be blogging to promote their business." Maybe not. Here is why:
  • Blogging is writing and writing is hard work. Some people have long-winded things to say about all kinds of topics. Some of us save our best writing for clients.
  • We can't do it all. There are more tools in the social media toolbox than we have time to use. It's better to use a few types well than to do all of them half way.
  • We can tweet instead. I can almost always say what I want in 140 characters and then point the interested reader to more information. In fact, trends show that bloggers are tweeting more and blogging less. I also post updates on my Facebook business page and write this monthly newsletter.

But I love to read blogs by great writers. I get inspiration and information from my favorite bloggers every week and I share my favorites through Twitter and Facebook. So if you don't want to blog, or get up to speed on every type of social media, it's ok!
