Greetings!
We have entered the final stretch of this annual race that began on January 1, 2011. After enduring many challenges, we are determined to finish what we started! Each lap has increased our endurance while running into strong winds of resistance. Yet we will continue to run this race with patience and look unto the Author and Finisher of our Faith. Therefore, let me encourage you to review this newsletter with pride as you recognize the power of God upon this ministry at Friendly that is propelling us to run this race and finish strong!!!
As we anticipate God's promises for the New Year, I've highlighted a few focus areas for 2012. Let's remain faithful and prayerful as God continues to lead us on our path of purpose! Look forward to the following events and continue to trust the best is still yet to come!!
- New tenants moving into the Arlington Grove Housing
- Expansion services at our outstanding Child Development Center
- Increased services to our Ministries, Seniors, Youth and Community Citizens.
- Educational partnerships and establishment of employment opportunities by hosting new businesses throughout the Martin Luther King Corridor and much more!!
In Him,
Pastor M. Jones |

The Working Women of FTMBC Raised $15K! | |
Campaign Update By Aaron Reeves, FTMBC Member
The building fund pledge campaign was reinitiated in 2011. The goal is to pay-off a substantial portion of the current construction loan balance and the Dome renovation cost. Thanks to your generous contributions, we are well on our way to reach this goal. Our new campaign initiative is to have 1,500 members commit to a pledge of $20 a week (above your normal tithes) for a two-year period. This will allow us to raise $3,120,000 within the two-year period and pay the entire construction loan off by its maturity date of June 18, 2015.
We understand the economic challenges everyone is facing today and making a commitment of $20 per week over two years may be difficult. We are very thankful to the members of Friendly and your faithfulness to this campaign. Whatever amount you are able to pledge is greatly appreciated! No amount is too small.
Currently, we have 176 new pledges made and they total $223,591 over a two year period. The year to date amount from the new pledges equals $24,650. In addition, over 950 members have contributed to the building fund campaign during 2011 but most have not completed a pledge card. We are asking everyone who has not filled out a pledge card in 2011 to please do so. This allows us to keep better accounting records and forecast the amount we can pay the bank each month to reduce the loan balance. For the year of 2011, we have received a total of $108,736 in building fund contributions. We want to thank each and every one of you for your contributions.
The Dome was renovated during 2011 and we are preparing for the official grand opening. The construction cost totals $355,598 and we have paid $167,623.75, leaving a balance due of $187,974.25. Our goal is to use the building fund campaign contributions to pay off this balance by the end of January 2012. We are well on our way because of your support!! We know that GOD can take two fish and five loaves of bread and multiply it! In closing, we give a special thanks to the "Ministries on the Move" for their extraordinary support of the campaign. Be Blessed and Be a Blessing!

The Friendly Temple Presents - "The Promise"
A Christmas Concert

|
|
Friendly Temple M. B. Church will host a formal evening of music and fellowship sponsored by the Music Ministry Department on Friday, December 23rd, at 7:00pm. The Christmas concert will be based on the celebration of the birth of Jesus the Christ and introduce new music while reminding everyone of the Hope of the Season and the "Promise" of John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
This concert is FREE and open to the public. In an effort to support the FTMBC Stewardship Campaign Initiative, we are asking everyone to donate $20.00. Special guests are invited and a commemorative CD will be given to each donor. You may make your donation to any choir member, the media store or the FTMBC Administrative Office and pickup your keepsake ticket.
