that the first Twice shop is coming soon! We will be opening in St Andrews at 14 Bell Street in early October. Lots of people are working hard behind the scenes to get everything together - because St Andrews is largely a conservation area there are loads of planning issues to go through so we're jumping through the hoops and hope to be able to give you an opening date in our next newsletter.

A few words from Caroline to give you a hint about what you can expect at Twice this autumn.
"The way I work with Twice is to bring to life things that I want or need and that work with our ethos of working with tradition. To this end, I've been been working with designer Victoria Legge who specialises in beautifully tailored jackets and I am very excited about the hacking jackets in tweed and wool that will be coming soon. Our classic linen tunics are always in demand and this year you'll find them in warm Lancashire needlecord - I know I'm going to live in them. I've also been working with sheepskin tanners in Somerset and will finally be bringing to life a fabulous gillet design that I've had in mind for a while.
On the fabric front, there's a new vintage-inspired pattern in development that will join our fabric line - in the meantime, you will see 'Posie' in a new range of cards and notebooks that will be out for Autumn.
It doesn't seem that long ago that I was starting off my kitchen table business making hot water bottle covers and re-cycling vintage pieces and now here we are with a thriving mail order business and opening our first shop. I am really excited about the opportunities it gives us to try out new designs and communicate more directly with our customers."

Caroline says "This month's list again leans on the line-up at the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival which celebrated it's 7th year last weekend. A glorious, mostly rain-free weekend was had by 14,000 lucky festival goers in the Highlands. Mostly wonderful music and happy people, with the exception of Badly Tempered (Drawn) Boy who had a touch of the prima donnas and Harper Simon - to whom I would say what's the point of coming all the way from LA if you're just going to be moody?! KT Tunstall showed them how to do it by making a surprise appearance on the smaller Grassroots stage and completely wowing the crowd. Martin Stephenson gets my vote for best grin of the festival! As for best moment? Has to be hundreds of people singing along with gusto in the KaraUke tent - karaoke to a ukelele band!"
Tickets for Belladrum 2011 are already on sale.
