Your home is your most important asset.  This update from Mortgage Dave will help you keep abreast of the latest news about financing your home.  Enjoy!

Well the Bank of Canada did it again, they dropped the overnight lending rate by 25 basis points to .25%.  This is the lowest rate since the central bank was founded in 1934.  The central bank went on to say they plan to leave the rate where it is for over a year!

The countries banks have all now lowered their prime rate to 2.25%.  This is good news for everyone who is on a variable rate mortgage as it looks like we are going to have some stable low variable rates for some time to come.

Fixed rates are also at historical lows so both options are good but depend on your personal situations and risk tolerances.

The real-estate market has picked up quite a bit in the last month and we are seeing multiple offer situations frequently.  There are some great prices out there and my realtors are all busy.

I work with a handful of very good realtors so if you need a referral please just give me a call.

Other than that the sun is shinning and the Canucks are winning so all is right with the world!
