If you want an unbelievable rush, schedule a time to tour Mission Central. Once you hear how Mission Central was born you will immediately know that God is in this place. There is so much happening in this facility; it is contagious. You will be so energized to get involved in service for others. It is absolutely amazing. When I stand in the distribution center and take it all in; I can feel God's presence. The best way to experience God is through the joy of being in service to those in need.
The ultimate worship of God is that which takes place in your own heart. We invite you to join in the experience of service by giving your talents, time and money. Mission Central exists through faith giving. It is important that we receive your financial support. The 40' ocean container we shipped to Sierra Leone, Africa last week cost nearly $8,000. We hope you can appreciate the need. Right now Haiti is the focus. We are sending relief supplies through UMCOR and Haiti Outreach Ministries. And we still continue to support our local social service ministries and agencies. Did you know that Mission Central provided goods and services to over 230 different agencies in 2009?
Get involved and feel the joy of giving and serving. You will want others to experience the rush too. You'll want to pass it on. It only takes a spark to get a fire going and soon all those around will warm up to its glowing. Mission Central needs you to become a Friend in Mission. By becoming a Friend in Mission, our annual membership program, you will help us keep the doors open so that nearly 4,000 volunteers annually can continue to experience being the hands and feet of Christ. With these wonderful volunteers and your financial support, we will continue to undergird even more disaster relief and humanitarian projects in 2010.
Our goal for 2010 is 2,010 NEW Friends in Mission. That is only about 3 new members per congregation. Please consider becoming a Friend in Mission. Go to our website at:
