Serving Christ through Our United Methodist Connection

Jesus told his disciples, "Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don't worry about missing out. You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met." (Matthew 6:33, The Message)

When Jesus sent his disciples to preach, heal and cast out demons, he explicitly sent them with nothing but the coats on their backs. While they easily could have found themselves worrying about the lack of resources for ministry, they simply did what Jesus had told them to do. When they returned, they found great things had happened among them despite their poverty.

In this holy season of shepherds gathered round the sleeping Prince of Peace, we remember all who are outside the circle of sleep, and we rest uneasy until everyone is safe, secure, loved, healed, welcomed.

Rejoice today in God's gift of peace on earth, good will to all, yet to be realized, sure to come.

In the harshness of this world, there is the promise of peace. Peace, that you and I can offer to victims of poverty, natural disaster, broken homes and marriages; circumstances over which those we seek to help have no control.

Individually, you and I might be able to help a few of those afflicted; but together with God's blessings, we are impacting thousands of lives in our neighborhoods, our country and around the world. Together there is no limit to what we can accomplish. Our faith, yours and mine, and our willingness to follow God's direction, knowing that He will provide the means and the way, makes it possible for Mission Central to accomplish so much with so little.

Thank you for the thousands of hours you donate, for sharing your God given gifts and talents that help us be more effective and efficient at our ministry, for your prayers and thoughtful support and for your donations. While together we have accomplished much there is still much for us to do.

I look forward, in the New Year,  to walking the journey with you that God is calling us to walk together. We rest uneasy until everyone is safe, secure, loved, healed, welcomed inside the circle of peace.
