Fairview Inn Receives Top Honors |
Best Bed and Breakfast in Mississippi
In Mississippi Magazine's July/August 2010 issue, the Best of Mississippi 2010 were chosen. The categories ranged from dining out, where top restaurants were chosen for different categories, getting out, which included top venues for certain occassions, and seeking out, which included best places to find unique items you may be looking for. The Fairview Inn was chosen as the number one best bed and breakfast in Mississippi.
The Fairview was also recognized as one of the top places to get married. |

Sophia's Restaurant | |
Sophia's new Executive Chef, Jason Jones, has come up with a new dinner menu! Be sure to dine with us in the evening and see all of the new tasty menu items, for a look at the new dinner menu: Dinner Menu.
Sophia's next Culinary Tour will be the Tour of Greece, happening July 30 and 31 (be sure to make reservations in advance). The restaurant will be uniquely themed in Greek decor and serve a five course Greek meal, accompanied with or without wines. Menu details: Sophia's Restaurant will not be serving brunch, Sunday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day. The restaurant will remain closed the following day, July 5th for lunch. Sophia's will re-open Tuesday, July 6th for lunch and dinner.

Julian Hankins "Jay"
A native of Jackson, MS, Jay has been working at the Fairview Inn for Sophia's Restaurant for three years. He is a Sautee Cook in the kitchen and prepares delicious dishes for Sophia's guests. The thing he loves most about his job is being able to cook for all different types of people.He also really enjoys the people he works with and the friends that he has made while working at Sophia's. Jay got his passion for cooking from watching his mom and his aunt in the kitchen. He can always remember them making many different dishes and learning different techniques from them. You may also see Jay preparing omelets on our Sunday Brunch. When not making tasty creations in Sophia's kitchen, Jay enjoys spending time with his kids, 2 sons, ages 13 and 14, and a daughter, age 5. He can also be often found shooting basketball, which is his favorite sport. |

Sophia's Kitchen Corner |  | |
2 lbs. Fresh or frozen crawfish taiks
1/2 C Green onion
1/2 C Butter
24 oz. Cream cheese
8 Cloves
2 T Red pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons Pepper
salt to taste
Thaw crawfish if frozen; drain, reserving liquid. In a 3 qt. saucepan, cook onion in butter until tender. Break up large pieces of crawfish. Stir in cheese, garlic, peppers and salt. Stir in crawfish liquid or chicken broth until dipping consistency. Serve warm with assorted crackers or thin garlic toast.

This superb suite boasts a relaxing King bed and inviting sitting area situated in front of a beautiful fireplace. Guests can also enjoy the lavish deluxe bathroom, including a large whirlpool tub and separate walk-in shower. The rate for this room is $249 for single occupancy and $264 for double occupancy, which includes a full Southern breakfast in the morning.

Friday, November 19, 2010:
This fall the Fairview will host the third annual Eagle Fund event to raise money for the Boy Scouts of America and Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital. This spectacular event will include a reception, silent and live auction, and seated dinner to raise money for these charities. More details are coming soon on the theme of this year's event.
The Simon Sharp Eagle Fund was created in memory of Simon Sharp, son of Peter and Tamar Sharp and twin brother of Sophie.
