Congratulations Gin!
Forest Grove's own fiber artist Gin DeCamp recently swept the awards at the 2008 Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival in Canby. Her "Fantasy Reef" hat won both the Reserve Champion and Reserve Grand Champion awards. Gin also won the Judge's Choice Award with her candelabra with felted accents.
The "Fantasy Reef" hat evolved from various wet felting and needle felting shaping techniques using merino wool with yarn accents. Gin rescued the candelabra from Goodwill and transformed it with felted panels inspired by the Columbia River petroglyphs and pictographs.
A Framer's Touch carries many of Gin's creations which are all beautiful and give you the warm fuzzies just in time for the cool fall weather.
