Kobe Bryant visits My Friend's Place

 Kobe in the dayroom

On Tuesday, June 7th, Kobe Bryant of the LA Lakers and his wife Vanessa held a press conference at My Friend's Place announcing the formation of their new family foundation and Homeless Youth Initiative.

Kobe and Vanessa spent the morning listening to several youth tell their stories, then stepped into our dayroom to speak with reporters about their plans to partner with MFP.

Watch ABC 7's video of the day or read the LA Times synopsis. Thanks to Kobe and Vanessa for choosing MFP and making a difference in the lives of homeless youth!

CIRCUS SPECTACULAR a Truly Spectacular Evening!

Le Studio's Le Petit Cirque Performers

On June 5th, My Friend's Place celebrated community members making a difference in the lives of homeless youth at CIRCUS SPECTACULAR!

With amazing food and drinks, wonderful guests, and astounding performances (including by Le Studio's Le Petit Cirque Performers, above), it was an evening to remember!  Check out a complete picture album and event recap.

Our sincerest thanks to everyone who helped make this special night possible, including all our sponsors, performers, honorees, and staff. Together we raised more than $80,000 for homeless youth services at My Friend's Place!

Word From the Streets

Written by youth in workshops at My Friend's Place

When I look into my son's eyes I realize
how much he needs me
to be there for him.
This little boy is the reason why we got out of the streets, got a job, place to live.
There are so many things I want to teach him
but specifically the story
of how he motivated
us to have a better life.
