My Friend's Place
 Newsletter
The mission of My Friend's Place is to assist and inspire homeless youth to build self-sufficient lives.
Greetings!
For twenty one years, My Friend's Place has made a difference in the lives of thousands of homeless youth in Hollywood.  Last year, we saw more youth than ever before.  At the same time, our income, all of which comes from private sources, significantly decreased.

In response to the economic situation, we have made the difficult decision to reduce our service hours, closing on the weekends beginning April 1st.  We have also reduced our staff by four full time team members.

This time of transition is painful for everyone at MFP, staff and youth alike.  But by making these deep cuts now, we can survive this difficult time and ensure a strong foundation for future years of service.  We will still provide our full range of services during the week and are working closely with our partners in the community to guide youth to other resources on the weekends.

Even in times of adversity, there is inspiration and hope to be found at My Friend's Place.  When we shared the news of our reductions with the youth, their thoughts immediately went to the well-being of the agency and of the staff they have come to trust and depend on.

Here's how you can help:
  • We will be sending an appeal for funding in the next few weeks.  Responding to that call for support will make a real difference.
  • Share this ENewsletter with your friends, and ask them to make a gift, in ANY amount, via our WEBSITE

Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do to support My Friend's Place.  Together we can weather this storm and continue to make a difference in the lives of homeless youth.

Thank you!
