Holiday Cheer for Homeless Youth
HatchOn December 18, My Friend's Place celebrated the holidays with our annual Winter Party.  Volunteers and staff served a hearty holiday meal and distributed backpacks, sleeping bags, winter clothing, children's toys, bus tokens and gift cards for food to a record-shattering 200 young people.

Special thanks go to Brentwood Presbyterian, Joan Tucker and the Turning Point School, Kay Sides and HATCh Inc, Koman Sportswear, Poz4Poz LA, Cathi Rue, the office of Munger, Tolles and Olson, Healthcare Partners, Mighty Fine Inc, Jane Wilson and St. Michael's Church, the CAP office at CalArts, Ivan Tether and all our fantastic volunteers and donors for making this a truly joyous occasion for the young people we serve.

My Friend's Place was open on Christmas Day.  Special thanks to Gwendolyn Hooks and Bam Crawford Ministries, Bible Enrichment Fellowship International Church for being with us and providing a delicious holiday meal.
No Child Should Have to Go Hungry
In 2008 My Friend's Place spent $116,758 on food.  It is one of our biggest expenses and one of the most important emergency services that we provide.  Help feed hungry homeless youth by supporting our Safe Haven Program!

Making New Friends
Thank you to Shyamala Reddy for hosting a festive winter holiday party in December to introduce us to new friends.  Community members new to My Friend's Place had the opportunity to get to know our work and the ways that we serve homeless youth in Hollywood.  The City of Los Angeles recognized Ms. Reddy's service and commitment to homeless youth with a City Certificate from City Council President, Eric Garcetti.  Thanks to everyone who joined us!  Do you want to host a party for My Friend's Place?  Contact Jane Cho by clicking here or call (323) 908-0011x101.
