Disney Friends for Change Grants - United Kingdom - £750

Deadline: May 27

Disney Friends for Change Grants offer young people across the United Kingdom an opportunity to receive a £750 grant to help make a lasting, positive change in the world. Youth ages 5-18 located in  the United Kingdom are eligible to apply for the £750 grants. http://bit.ly/JzNduh

         

Disney Amigos por el Mundo Grants - Latin America - $1,000 

Deadline: July 1
Disney Amigos por el Mundo Grants offer young change-makers the chance to receive a $1,000 USD grant to help make a lasting, positive change in the world.  Youth ages 5-18 located in Latin America are eligible to apply for a $1,000 USD grant. http://bit.ly/wYeWdb   

Global Youth Service Day Lead Agency Grants - $2,000

Deadline: July 15

YSA and State Farm are proud to support up to 100 Global Youth Service Day Lead Agencies for GYSD 2013 (April 26-28, 2013). GYSD Lead Agencies are local, regional, or statewide organizations across the United States, and the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Ontario, or New Brunswick that lead GYSD in their city, region, or state. Lead Agencies convene a coalition of at least 10 partner organizations that collectively engage at least 600 youth volunteers in service on GYSD, engage local media and elected officials, and plan a high profile signature project or celebration of service. GYSD Lead Agencies will receive a $2,000 grant provided by State Farm, a travel stipend to attend the Youth Service Institute, and ongoing training and technical assistance from YSA.  www.YSA.org/grants/leadagency      

 

Sodexo Foundation Lead Organizer Grants

Deadline: July 15

Sodexo Foundation Lead Organizers will work with 10 or more partner organizations to engage at least 600 youth volunteers in learning about and addressing the issue of childhood hunger in their communities, beginning during National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, November 10-17, 2012, and continuing through Global Youth Service Day, April 26-28, 2013. Sodexo Foundation Lead Organizers will also build new partnerships in their community and increase public awareness about the issue of childhood hunger and young people's role in solving the problem. Up to 12 organizations will receive $2,000 grants as well as travel and lodging expenses for the Youth Service Institute provided by the Sodexo Foundation. www.YSA.org/grants/SodexoLeadOrganizer    

MLK Day Lead Organizer Grants

YSA and CNCS  are proud to support up to 16 MLK Day Lead Organizers to coordinate Martin Luther King Day of Service (January 21, 2013) activities. The goal of the MLK Day Lead Organizers program is to engage youth and adult volunteers on Martin Luther King Day of Service by encouraging families to serve together. MLK Day Lead Organizers will convene a coalition of at least 10 partner organizations that collectively engage at least 3,000 youth and adult volunteers in service on MLK Day, including projects that both engage and serve veterans and military families. MLK Day Lead Organizers will receive a $4,000 grant as well as ongoing training and technical assistance from YSA. www.YSA.org/grants/MLKDay  

   

 

Sodexo Foundation School Engagement Grants - $5,000

Deadline: July 15

Sodexo Foundation School Engagement grantees will engage teachers and students, grades K-12, in learning about and addressing childhood hunger in their community through a service-learning Semester of Service. The Semester of Service™ framework is designed to engage students in a minimum of 70 hours of service and learning over a period of at least 10 - 14 weeks. This program focuses on building the academic subject areas of civics, social studies and language arts, but may also incorporate other academic areas. The $5,000 grant can be used to support professional development in service-learning (including required training at YSA's Youth Service Institute), project planning and implementation, and demonstration/sharing of outcomes. www.YSA.org/grants/sodexoschool   

State Farm Good Neighbor Student Achievement Grants - $1,500

Deadline: July 31

YSA and State Farm™ are proud to offer grants of up to $1,500 for programs enhancing student achievement through service-learning in K-12 public schools in all fifty US states, the District of Columbia, and in the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Ontario and New Brunswick. The State Farm Good Neighbor Student Achievement Grant requires a 12-to-14 week Semester of Service™ starting on MLK Day of Service (January 21, 2013) and ending on Global Youth Service Day, (April 26-28, 2013). The grant also includes participation in a regional training to introduce grantees to the elements and expectations of the program as well as the suite of tools, resources, and support that YSA will provide. www.YSA.org/goodneighbor

Banking on Youth Competition

The Consumer Bankers Association (CBA) Foundation and Ashoka's Youth Venture bring you the Banking on Youth competition! Banking on Youth is an exciting opportunity to showcase your great idea for a venture that directly benefits society.  If you are age 13-20, show your venture idea through a creative and fun 90-second video and entry form to compete to win one of 49 different $1,000 seed money prizes provided by sponsoring banks to bring your idea to life. The top six entrants, chosen by the CBA Foundation and Youth Venture, will win an all-expenses-paid trip to the annual Global Youth Venture Summit in Washington, D.C. in July to compete in a "pitch-off" for the chance to win the Audience Choice Award of $5,000 or the grand prize of $15,000! http://bit.ly/JhSDtR         

4th Annual Clifford Be Big In Your Community Contest

BE BIG™ is a national campaign that invites everyone, big and small, to take action and raise awareness for how Clifford's BIG Ideas (Share, Be Kind, Help Others, Be a Good Friend, Play Fair, Have Respect, Be Truthful, Believe in Yourself, Work Together and Be Responsible) can make the world a better place. As part of the BE BIG campaign, the contest will award $10,000 in community grants (one $5,000 grant and five $1,000 grants) to the BIGGEST ideas that best demonstrate Clifford's BIG Ideas! Scholastic and HandsOn Network will work with the winners to bring their Big Ideas to life!  Parents, kids, teachers, and community leaders are invited to submit their ideas. http://bit.ly/eSU7Om     


Afterschool Awards (Scholarship)

The Afterschool Awards is a nationwide contest spotlighting after school achievements for Elementary, Middle School and Junior High students. IZOD, JCPenney and NOW Music have teamed up to bring students a chance to turn their afterschool passion into cash for their future education. Students are invited to enter Afterschool Awards between now and June 25th for a chance to win up to $10,000 in scholarship money! Students can enter in up to four categories: Sports, Community Service, Science and Music & Arts to show everyone what they've got going on after the bell rings! KaBOOM! Let's Play Maintenance Grants

Deadline: June 29

Thanks to generous support from Dr Pepper Snapple Group, KaBOOM! will be awarding grants of $750 each to communities this year who wish to make their playgrounds cleaner, safer and more inviting. The Let's Play Spruce grants are designed to reward communities that have maintained and spruced their playspaces since their playground build. If you've done a "spruce up" project at your playground that involved volunteers in the last 6 months, you are eligible to apply. Alternatively, if you are a community that needs to refill the wood fiber playground surfacing at the playground, you can apply for  $750 to be used towards the purchase of the surfacing. http://bit.ly/IIzZfN       


Chevrolet Green Educator Award

Deadline: June 30

Earth Force and the General Motors Foundation are looking for inspirational educators who engage youth in innovative and interactive environmental learning. Ten educators from across the United States will be chosen to receive this prestigious award. You may nominate yourself or a GREEN educator who exemplifies the criteria listed below. Winners will be announced on September 1, 2012. The Award recognizes educators who encourage youth to lead their own learning, support learning beyond the classroom to improve their communities, and create and sustain local partnerships that connect young people to their community. Generations United Youth Jumpstart Grants

Deadline: June 30

Generations United and MetLife Foundation are pleased to announce the 2012 Youth Jumpstart Grants designed to promote intergenerational solutions to societal challenges and build stronger communities. Technical assistance and grants of $1,000 will be awarded to youth and organizations interested in developing youth-led intergenerational programs in their communities. This year, the priority will be funding programs addressing hunger and nutrition. http://bit.ly/mCprqx   


Best Buy Community Grants

Deadline: July 1

Through the Community Grants program, Best Buy teams across the United States select non-profit organizations that give teens access to opportunities through technology to help them excel in school and develop 21st century skills. This year, the Best Buy Children's Foundation will give $2.8 million in Community Grants. Grant amounts will average $4,000 - $6,000 and will not exceed $10,000. Best Buy seeks applications from 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations and public agencies that have tax-exempt status and are giving teens access to opportunities through technology. Location must be with 50 miles of a Best Buy store or other Best Buy center of operations (e.g., corporate headquarters) to allow for Best Buy employee volunteers. http://bit.ly/JzSi5S   

Ben & Jerry's Foundation National Grassroots Grant Program  

Deadline: Ongoing

Through the National Grassroots Grant Program, Ben & Jerry's Foundation grant program aims to further social justice, protect the environment and support sustainable food systems. Grants of up to $15,000 are provided to grassroots, constituent-led organizations that are using community organizing strategies to accomplish their goals as well as organizations that provide technical support and/or resources to such groups. Applicants must be organizations with budgets under $500,000. Only organizations with 501(c)3 status, or who have a fiscal agent with this status are eligible to apply. http://bit.ly/KdQ7DR      


Environmental Solutions for Communities Grant Program

Deadline: July 2

Wells Fargo and the National Fish & Wildlife Foundation seek to promote sustainable communities through Environmental Solutions for Communities by supporting projects that link economic development and community well-being to the stewardship and health of the environment. Eligible applicants include: non-profit 501(c) organizations; state, tribal, provincial and local governments; and educational institutions working in states and communities where Wells Fargo operates. Grant awards will typically range from $25,000 to $250,000. http://bit.ly/LjLJ7Y      

Home Depot Community Impact Grants

Deadline: August 13

Grants, up to $5,000, are available to registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, public schools, or tax-exempt public service agencies in the U.S. that are using the power of volunteers to improve the physical health of their community.  Grants are given in the form of The Home Depot gift cards for the purchase of tools, materials, or services. More competitive grant proposals will specifically identify projects for veterans and will include housing repairs, modifications, and weatherization work. Once grant applications are reviewed, all applicants will receive a written response within six weeks of receipt of a request. http://bit.ly/Me5GzA
