Greetings!

Celebrating Independence Day is important to all of us. It marks a time in the middle of the summer where we are free to gather and celebrate the uniqueness of how the United States was born. It calls us together as friends, family and as a nation to celebrate the strength of a nation born out of a vision that all people are created equal in the eyes of our government and, for us as Christians, the eyes of God.

Freedom in Christ for Christians means we have been blessed with the gifts to love God and neighbor. Each of us is free to serve out of the passions and gifts that God has given us. What many of us need from time to time is a good dose of courage to step up and just do it! Perhaps it is oversimplifying what the founding families of the United States did but the simple fact is that they "just did it!"

Take heart this weekend as you celebrate the Fourth of July and remember that you have been blessed with a freedom in Christ that cannot be separated from you. It is God's gift to each of us! Enjoy the freedom of a few hours to be with those who mean the most to you.

VBS 2010 ~ "Galactic Blast"
Time to Blast Off! Time to Register! Time to be Invitational!

Several things to remember this year:

1) VBS 2010 begins a week from Monday. Our church building is going to be transformed into an intergalactic space where children from our church and our community can meet the grace of God through talented and loving volunteers!

2)Take a moment to go to the PV website and register or drop by the VBS table this Sunday to register.

3)Share a post card with friends, relatives, associates and neighbors who might want their child to have an experience with God this summer. You can pass a post card on to them that has a $1 off coupon to redeem when they arrive on Monday, July 11. These post cards are available at the VBS table.

We are looking at having on of the best Vacation Bible School's ever at PV!

An Opportunity to make a difference
Garden City Mission Trip ~ July 18 - 21

If you would like to take a short mission trip to make a huge difference in the lives of 40-50 children this summer then the Vacation Bible School Mission is something you don't want to miss considering. Check out the information this weekend at the Connecting Point table or contact the church office for more information.

Stop, Drop and Play

Check out the schedule for Stop, Drop and Play online or at the Connecting Point table in the narthex. These are great opportunities this summer to connect with other parents of young children.
