Hope Springs Forth ~ Looking Toward the Horizon
This coming week is important.
~ Mark you calendars to be part of Heritage Sunday!
Why?
1) It's a party! You are part of a great church family. And a great church family has great parties and great parties in the church do something great to us and for us!
2) We can know where the church is! Share where you and your family live by putting a pin on the city map in the narthex.
3) We can know when the church became part of your life! Put a sticky note on the timeline in the narthex when you or your family became part of the Pleasant Valley Church!
4) Listen for hope! We've got some great stories of faith and hope to share from our congregation! I know you knew that, but I thought I would remind you.
5) You can eat! We will be having a potluck after 10:45a.m. worship. A Free-Will offering will be offered so you just need to bring a side dish or desert.
6) Get ready to surf! We are going to ride the momentum of the Spirit into the freedom of being a "Church Beyond the Debt" in 2011!!
Memorial Sunday This Sunday
During worship on May 30 we will consecrate each of the gifts to the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church congregation in memory of saints who have finished their earthly labors.
Annual Conference Report
Keith Dial and I will give a report on the 2010 Annual Conference on Sunday June 6. It has been inspiring and challenging this year! the them this year has been "Go Light Your World," and Intentional Faith Sharing and Development!
Peace with Justice Sunday
This Sunday is an opportunity to give above and beyond to the "Peace with Justice" Sunday offering. This is one of the five special Sundays in which we fund directly different visions in the United Methodist Church.
