Dear Pleasant Valley Friends and Family,
This is a week of Thanksgiving. That is for sure. It is also the end of the Christian year. With Christ the King Sunday before us tomorrow we know that with the decorating of the church and the first Sunday in Advent around the corner it is the beginning of the Christian year.
Jesus is indeed King and Lord of all creation. As Christians we can be thankful for God's act toward us in Jesus Christ. Every moment everyday and every month we live is a thankful response to God's goodness toward us. I want to invite you this week as part of your prayer life to give thanks to God for one blessing each day. Maybe you'll take the step to call that person and thank them for their presence in your life. Life is full of challenges. We all know that and we have experienced that. It's time to get busy with thankfulness for the God who is, was and will be in our lives.
Pleasant Valley is a fabulous Christian family. I am going to be lifting up some thanks throughout the coming week for some of the amazing contributions to this family that have happened this year and fall. Look for some special notes of thanks from me to you. It is an honor and blessing to be your pastor.
May you be blessed by the One who created us all and invites us to live freely in the love and grace of Jesus Christ.
Grace and Peace to you all,
Nathan D. Stanton
