Dear Pleasant Valley Friends and Family,
Radical hospitality
Passionate worship
Intentional faith development
Risk-taking mission
Extravagant generosity
These are the characteristics of a disciple according th Bishop Robert Schnase. When we take a step back and think about each of these practices, we can also ask ourselves, "who taught me how to do these practices?" How did inviduals or the church teach me to practice these and fullfill my commitment to Jesus Christ through His church? This Sunday explores the church's intentionality in how we raise up followers of Jesus to produce fruit based on these five practices.
Not only are we growing deeper in our faith right now as a church, we are also growing numerically as we add six new members this Sunday at the conclusion of the 10:45 worship service. These individuals have sought to connect with Christ through our congregation in order to live their lives as disciples. Not only will you meet them as the receive their vows of membership to Pleasant Valley UMC, you will also be able to see them on the website once you register to get on the PV members area of the site.
Grace and Peace to you all,
Nathan D. Stanton
