iCARE  OUTreach- BABY RESCUE

Baby Blocks

During MS Chapel on October 5, we have a special presentation from one of our own families involved in a ministry effort to rescue infants in poverty stricken Uganda. The goal of this ministry is to place these infants in stable Christian homes. See www.nightlight.org.  Mrs. Kellie Falk, (parent of Mitchel Foster, grade 7) will be making a second trip to Uganda on October 22, and we are teaming up with her to pray and help bring much needed supplies to these infants. All MS students will have an opportunity to be involved by bringing in powdered baby formula and diapers of all sizes. All items brought to school by October 20 will be packed with Mrs. Falk and travel with her. Not only will we partner with her by bringing baby supplies, but each Bible class will begin praying specifically for a baby who is awaiting adoption. We invite all our parents to join us for this special presentation. Chapel is in the Gym at 10:20-11:15.

iCARE OUTreach- 4th Annual  Halloween Community Food Drive

Canned Food Bags

Our annual Halloween Community Food Drive is coming! Each year our students prepare brown sacks and drop them off in local neighborhoods and then on Halloween afternoon, go back out and pick up the bags of food. All food will benefit the Temecula Food Bank. This is a great opportunity to work alongside your children as they reach out to their own community. Please check out Sign-Up Genius for info on how you can be involved. We need approved drivers and chaperones for both October 28 and October 31. This is a community service and parent participation opportunity.

iCARE OUTreach- Whidbey Island Team

MS OUTreach Whidbey Island

Team USS Whidbey Island was introduced to our students this week at Chapel. Lily Sinclair (grade 8) shared information about her neighbor's naval ship and the hardships of deployment. Her vision is to support the USS Whidbey Island and it's 461 soldiers by encouraging them through correspondence, gift baskets, videos, and holiday fun. Lily invited those students interested to gather for a meeting at lunch to further explain her plan and invite others to join in.  Over 50 students packed out Mrs. Turner's room to learn how they could be involved. Please be in prayer for this community service outreach opportunity to share our love and encouragement with those who so bravely serve and sacrifice for our freedoms.

Starting next week, the Whidbey Island Team will be selling ice cold water bottles at middle school volleyball and flag football games to raise funds for this outreach effort.

Watch Dog Logo

Who are WatchDOGS (Dads Of Great Students)?

WatchDOGS are fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures who volunteer for at least one day each year at Linfield, an official WATCH D.O.G.S. ® school. During the day, WatchDOGS may read and work on flash cards with students, play at recess, eat lunch with students, watch the school entrances and hallways, assist with traffic flow, mentor students, and any other assigned activities where they actively engage with not only their own students, but other students as well.

Bridge Builders - Middle School Parent Helpers

Bridge"Serving the Lord by serving our kids- with integrity, by example, and with commitment."  The Lord has blessed us all with unique gifts and talents, and we want to come together to utilize the "untapped resource" in our school - the parents.  Bridge Builders is a group of parents who organize and facilitate the parent volunteers for our Middle School, and coordinate the MS "OUT" activities.  We are "bridging the gap" by providing assistance to our wonderful teachers and staff, and connecting families to events and information at the Middle School.

If you have questions, please contact the Parent Team coordinator, Jodi Crume at jodicrume@hotmail.com, or email the MS office here.

Middle School Athletics

MS Cross Country had a great season opener at Lake Perris!

There were 91 boys and 55 girls running in this event. All the kids did great! Montana Beucler (pictured) came in 5th place!!!

We look forward to our home event on Saturday, October 29th at 9:00 AM. Come on out to show your support!

CAMPUS PREVIEW DAY

CPD Dare Square

Sunday -  October 30, 2011

Who are Linfield students?

They are your friends, neighbors, church family, sports teammates and youth group friends! They are kids and families that share the same values as you. Since most of our students come to us because they are referred by a member of our current Linfield family, our student body is positively affected by the families you bring. You can have a direct impact on our campus culture by inviting or bringing these families to our Junior K-12th Grade Campus Preview on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at 2:00 pm in our Prayer Garden.  Thank you and we look forward to sharing with these families how Linfield changes lives.

Each golfer will receive a gift bag with tee prizes, lunch and awards and hors d' oeuvres reception and entrance to the Celebrity Meet and Greet Pairing Party.

The Celebrity Meet and Greet Pairing Party on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 will be a chance for you to rub elbows with professional athletes, musicians and a sportscaster.
