This Month of Saturday, October 30, 2010 don't forget the Coral Restoration Foundations Dives to support our ecosystem for generations to come. Choose your dive dates today. Space is limited to 20 divers. Dive with the Florida Marine Aquarium Society one of the oldest Marine Aquarium Society's in North America. FMAS in conjunction with AQUANAUTS SCUBA ACADEMY will be having a special dive event at the CRF dive site in Key Largo, Florida. During this event, FMAS will be planting aqua-cultured corals from the CRF site onto a specific location at Molasses Reef. This location will be designated the "Florida Marine Aquarium Society Reef". This will be the first event of its type to take place in the Florida Keys.

Diving at the Coral Restoration Foundations aqua-culture coral Key Largo Site is FMAS Diver Pedro Rivera pictured above. After completing the morning presentation by Ken Nedimyer, President of CRF divers like Pedro Rivera participated in efforts to preserve the aqua-cultured coral site, and later on the second dive plant frags to repopulate coral reefs.

Lionfish (Pterois Volitans) have been documented along the entire United States East Coast from Florida through Massachusetts, East to Bermuda and South throughout the Bahamas and in other Caribbean Islands such as Turks and Caicos and Cuba. The expansion has been extremely rapid and exponential in scope. We have seen some Lionfish ha e been located on the Captain Dan and Sea Emperor, also some divers have seen them off Boca Artificial Reef.
