St. Patty got nothing on these two divers... no green sea monsters only green suds during March! DiveHeart Trained Instructors volunteered their efforts for Diver Jeff Glasser & Diver Brock Wilson during their SCUBA Certification Course. Pictured is Diver Jeff Glasser prior to his ocean dives. On March 20, 2010 Shake-A-Leg Miami sponsored the Boca Boating & Beach Bash for people with disabilities. The day was spent with live music; intercoastal boat rides; food & drink; and good times for all! April 16, 2010 interest groups with VA Miami will be meeting in support of activities for our military wounded! Thanks to Dr. Angel Colon-Molero, MD leading the volunteers and interest groups to successful committments. ...You too can get involved in the local area and support or volunteer to dive with active buddy divers with disabilities "Making Posabilities For Disabilities" .
The Florida Keys is the backdrop for the most recent DMW Diveheart Military Wounded and Diveheart Disabled Divers trips for Veterans and Civilians with disabilities to gain the opportunity to experience and enjoy beautiful Key Largo underwater. DMW volunteers from Illinois and Florida came together to bring Veterans with TBI (Traumatic Brain Injuries), Amputee, Blindness, Quadriplegia, Tourettes, Ceberal Palsy, and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) to the beautiful reefs beneath the waves. Certified SCUBA divers can learn to assist disabled divers both in the pool and open water as Volunteers take the Buddy Disability Training.

Devistating the Caribbean
Lionfish (Pterois Volitans) have been documented along the entire United States East Coast from Florida through Massachusetts, East to Bermuda and South throughout the Bahamas and in other Caribbean Islands such as Turks and Caicos and Cuba. The expansion has been extremely rapid and exponential in scope. We have seen some Lionfish ha e been located on the Captain Dan and Sea Emperor, also some divers have seen them off Boca Artificial Reef.

Once again, with the help of the South Florida Divers, and all our volunteers, we had a very successful event. Two days of beautiful weather allowed buyers and bidders at the flea market to enjoy themselves while contributing to a great cause. Six wounded warriors accompanied the SUDS staff for the event and the festivities began Friday with a fun night at SouthPort Rawbar where over 40 supporters came to party.
Throughout the weekend, the soldiers dived every day and were joined by divers onboard the Sea Experience 2 and the Blue Runner. Both vessels ran trips to the great South Florida wrecks and reefs and contributed to the cause.
Sunday evening farewell dinner was attended by about 40 people who braved the teeth of the cold west wind howling at the upper deck of the Bahia Cabana restaurant. We all hope we were saying goodbye to the coldest winter most residents ever remember.
Each soldier got to go "shopping" at the flea market and filled a dive bag with gear to take home.
A huge thank you from the staff and family of Divers Discount Florida to all the volunteers, the SUDS staff and participants, the South Florida Divers, the Saint David Mens Club and all our sponsors and contributors for making this a truly memorable event for a most worthy cause. SUDS is in all our hearts forever.
