As AQUANAUTS we look forward to our NEW volunteers both Buddy Divers and Instructors. But don't forget about our Divers with disabilities and all those who make this possible. The Buddy Diver Course (BDT) has become one of our most popular new additions enabling volunteers to assist handicaped divers. Diver Jeff Glasser has taken the first step in diving into the tranquil and rejuvenating "Aquatic World"! While serving his country as a U.S. Army Veteran he scaved the perils of danger until returning home. His unfortunate motorcycle accident left him partially imobilized. However, during the dive experience we noticed that Jeff was actually making kicking movements. Diving is a rehibilitating sport allowing the spinal cord to be in a relaxed corrective position. Jeff has enrolled into the Veterans Oceans Adventures program to continue his active lifestyle. This program is offering veterans an eight week training in aquatics. Consiting of Aquatic Safety, Fishing, Kayaking, Sailing, Diving and more to allow participants to explore cruising between Key West and the Bahamas.

Many caring individuals, with a multitude of talents, have already exercised their skills to benefit the disabled community through DIVEHEART.
As a DIVEHEART volunteer you can unleash your creativity and lend your support in a variety of ways. Here are just a few examples of how you can become a friend of DIVEHEART.
DIVE BUDDY (BDT):
Certified SCUBA divers can learn to assist disabled divers both in the pool and open water as Volunteers take the Buddy Disability Training opportunity.
Next Class Date: Scheduled October 21-25 (BDT) at Pro Dive to 6pm-9pm classroom sessions and the weekend from 8am-12pm pool sessions. Become a Dive Buddy (BDT) contact Instructor Worth O'Brien at info@aquanauts.biz for Broward County.

S.U.D.S. / W.W.P. is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping our disabled soldiers rehabilitate by teaching them an activity that is both rewarding and less physically demanding. They are funded by private donations and depend on our support.
