backtotopTHIS WEEK'S CELEBRATIONS

Our MS band did exceptionally well thanks to Nick Knoles and his outstanding leadership.  All three bands brought home huge trophies in the Band 1A Division at the Band Competition in Vallejo this past Saturday.

6th Grade Placed 1st

7th Grade Placed 3rd

8th Grade Placed 2nd

Congratulations Nick and all the MS students with a very special "shout out" to our 'newest band director in training' Michele West for her help at the competition.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR ADMINISTRATOR

Dear Parent Association,Thank you so much for the delightful luncheon you provided last week.  Your generosity and support are very much appreciated and we felt like royalty as we sipped our tea from 'real' china!  What a treat for us!  Your generosity and kind heart make such a huge impact here at Good Shepherd.

Thank you,

Susan Hall

MUSINGS

I had a lovely family tour the preschool today. As we were approaching Mrs. Beckmann's classroom, I realized that it is her annual Mother's Day tea. What a celebration! I told the family that class was usually not like this, it is an unusual day. Dad said, "Wouldn't it be great if it were!" Later in the morning, as I sat at my desk, I heard the band playing an arrangement of "We will Rock You", "Another One Bites the Dust" and other instrumentals. I happened to take a walk over to 4th grade, where I found the students examining owl regurgitation for evidence. They were fascinated and so was I.   Plus, the Spring play is in the air and preschool is busy completing their auction items and just being beautiful preschool children. This school is so amazing!   It reminds me that, "This is the day the Lord has made. Let us be glad and rejoice!"

SUNSCREEN

I absolutely love these sunny Spring days!  I know your children are enjoying them also.  Please remember to put sunscreen on your child.  If you would like the teachers to re-apply sunscreen, you must have a signed doctor's note.  You can send a container of sunscreen along with the note in a ziplock bag and give it to your child's teacher.  Community Care Licensing will not allow any preschool teacher to apply sunscreen without a doctor's note.  We want your children to be sunburn free and enjoying their outside time!  Thank you for your cooperation.

GOOD SHEPHERD SPRING CLEANING
and networking!
This week we launched a Spring cleaning campaign. We are starting the efforts right away, and will continue to work in phases throughout the spring and summer.  The goal is to have a shiny, clean building by the end of the summer.

See attached email that went out to all the staff this week.  If you would like to participate in the efforts, please contact Joanne Covert (jecsfo@aol.com). Lots of volunteers will be needed ~ we see some pizza and cleaning parties in our future!

As part of our long term facilities goals, we are going to make more substantial improvements ~ paint, flooring, lighting, storage, etc. We are assembling of list of resources and contacts.  Either parents who have experience in contracting, plumbing, electrical, etc; OR if you have a wonderful painter, etc who you would recommend, please let us know.

Thanks for your support and involvement!
