**  Please remember to send your students with their OWN  plate and a fork or spoon for their hot lunch.  They are going through a lot of paper plates and it is quite wasteful.

** REMINDER-If your child has a Doctor or Dentist appointment you need to bring a note upon returning to receive an excused tardy.

** Information about the summer program for 2's thru entering 3rd graders can be found at "Space Camp".

**  The third grade musical, The Emperor's New Clothes, has been approved by the board and will be performed on April 28, 2012.

**Good Shepherd Lutheran Church started a children's choir for all K-5th G.S. school children and church members. For more information call Lorri Murk @382-9055 or Camille Marshall @382-1933.                 
KISSES FOR KAYLA

The elementary school's student council sold over 1500 Valentines and raised over $450 for their Kisses for Kayla campaign.  Thank you to all who participated. It was a huge success for a great cause. 

 

Remember to keep bringing in your spare change for the Coins for Kayla fundraiser.  They have already collected over 500 dollars.

Deadline March 2nd ~ Reminder

Please email your favorite pictures (high resolution jpegs) to the photo coordinator for your class. It is so important that we get pictures from EVERYONE! You take the best pictures of your child, and we want the best pictures in our yearbook. 

  • Events: First day school, Book Fair, Harvest Spectacular, Halloween, Talent Show, Thanksgiving Feast, Grandparents Day, Christmas Chapel, Mare Hat Parade
  • General: Classroom, PE, gardening, playground, spirit days, extended care, field trips, class parties, student council, children's choir, band practice, chapel
  • Staff: Staff with children, teachers with aides, enrichment, playground, office, church staff, EVERYONE!

NEW ALL SCHOOL PHOTO (March 6th)
More Volunteers Needed

Main Campus Parking Lot

 

It is photo time! Why? To celebrate our 35th anniversary! Thanks in advance to everyone for your participation, we are very excited about this opportunity to commemorate our anniversary. 

 

Details: 

  • We will start moving everyone to the parking lot at 11:00, have everyone in place by 11:30, photo taking will be about 10 minutes. 
  • Attention M/W/F pre-school parents: REVISED INFO!
    • We are hoping that with this advance notice, that you will be able to make arrangements to bring your child for this special photo opportunity.  
    • Please let your teacher know if you are planning on attending.  You can bring your child to their classroom at 10:45, and stay with them for the duration of the photo. 
  • Navy or white solid color tops/dresses/sweaters; any uniform bottoms. For pre-school - if possible please have your child dressed in one of those solid colored shirts.  Note: we will have extra shirts on hand for all ages, in case someone forgets. 
  • Rain date Wednesday March 14th 
 Volunteers: We need lots of help with this major production!
  • Assist getting the kids to the parking lot.
  • Drive the Middle School students to the main campus and back (elementary school approved drivers are welcome also to participate). 
  • Help direct each group to their appropriate spot.  
  • Move chairs to the parking lot at 10:30 am.

GSLS 35th ANNIVERSARY POTLUCK DINNER

We are having an old-fashioned potluck to celebrate our anniversary. There are lots of fun plans for the night, don't miss it! All the details are on the sign up form (attached). 


Want to help plan the event?  Here are some ideas to get involved:  

Cookbook ~ We are going to publish a cookbook with all the recipes from the night!  See details on the attachment.  Contact Kim if you would like to help create the cookbook. 
Pictures & Slideshow ~ Do you have any pictures you would like to share for the slideshow? Spread the word - forward this email to former students, staff members and parents - lets get lots of pictures.  Photo deadline March 2nd. Email photos to Joanne. 

Alumni ~ We would love to have people who are a part of our school's history join us for our celebration. Please forward this to them so they can rsvp.    

Attendance ~ More than anything - WE WANT YOU THERE! Lets have a great turnout for this festive evening.
