KOREAN EXCHANGE STUDENT UPDATE
The Korean students are finishing up their second week at GSLS and in Novato. Right now, they are having PE with Mr. White in the Fellowship Hall. All the students in the 4th grade are having a great time right now and laughter is a universal language! Last Saturday, the students took a ferry trip to SF and reported that the city was "wonderful"! They also had a SF perfect weather day for their trip. Last Wednesday, we visited the Morning Star Horse Farm right here in Novato. Some of the student brushed horses and petted pigs, etc. I think the most memorial memory of that trip, though, will be the smell! Today, the students enjoyed a traditional Korean lunch, complete with kimchi. Thank you to Nari, their chaperone for preparing this wonderful lunch. I am constantly amazed by the generosity of our families at Good Shepherd. The host families for these students are giving them an experience of America they will not soon forget. Many thanks to them!

MS GUEST SPEAKER | |
Next Tuesday and Thursday, Jan. 24 and 26 we are blessed to have a member of PCN church come and speak with our students.
Her name is Libba Patterson and 50 years ago she was a host parent for a Korean exchange student named Ban Ki-Moon. He is now the president of the United Nations. Libba and Ban Ki-Moon stay in close contact to this day.
She will come to speak to the students at 10:00 both days. She plans to speak about the UN and UNICEF. She shared with Michele and me that she believes that students need to learn to step outside of themselves and learn about the world and giving now while they are young. Libba is 95 years old and she is excited about sharing this mission with the students.

SLOW DOWN IN PARKING LOT
Please observe all crosswalks and traffic signs throughout the parking lot. The speed limit is FIVE miles an hour.
Also, it would be greatly appreciated if the parking places on the hill were left open for staff, especially since some of them leave after dark or are carrying heavy loads up to the office. If you are waiting to drop off your child please park down below.
Thank you
