BacktotopA MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

As I reflect on this Christmas Season, I wanted to be sure to wish all of you and your families a wonderful Holiday Season and very Happy New Year. Please know how much I value your dedication, collaboration and partnership as we all work together to educate the young people of Good Shepherd. Please know that in 2012, as always, I am open to hearing from you.

Merry Christmas to you, your family and friends. May joy, peace, love, good health and good cheer abound for each of you!

Guys and Dolls Auditions (4th and 5th Graders)
If your student would like to audition for a lead part for our spring play production of Guys and Dolls, auditions will be held on Thursday, January 5th, 2012.  Send a lunch, we will have lunch recess from 12:15-1:00 and auditions from 1:00-3:00.  Pick up will take place at the bottom of the stairs below the church.  These auditions are for lead parts only.  Your child should not stay if they do not want a lead part.

The Emperor's New Clothes (3rd Grade play)
The third  grade will perform their own musical in the spring.  This is a wonderful and hilarious production.  Please look in January for the impending date.

Christmas Chapels/MS Concert

Our students and staff all amaze me with their talents and abilities! We are so blessed. I am sure I heard angels singing this week. I especially want to thank Nick Knoles, Wayne Colyer, Gretchen Simon, Janet Hanrahan, and all the staff who worked to make these Christmas Chapels and concert so amazing.

Spring Auction - Request for your support!

Merry Christmas Good Shepherd parents!

The auction committee is spearheading a fabulous event that will be held on May 19th, 2012 at the StoneTree Golf Course.  Mark your calendar now, so you're sure to be able to join us!

The auction committee has already started to hunt for donation items and corporate sponsors.  One of the best places to turn for donations and ideas is our own Good Shepherd families.  You may be receiving a call within the next few weeks from someone on the donation committee to see what your family would be able to contribute to the school auction.  We are expecting a large turnout this year and will need many donations to make sure we have plenty of bidding power.  We'd love to have an auction donation or two from every family!

This is a great opportunity to be creative! Some ideas:

  • Request a gift certificate from businesses you frequent: As a loyal customer, you already have a personal connection. Which of your favorite salons,  restaurants, stores, or local businesses could you ask to donate?
  • Ask the favorite camp that your child attends during break for a donation
  • Donate sporting events from your season ticket pass
  • Donate a week at vacation homes
  • Donate airline miles
  • Donate unused timeshare "points" for a week's stay
  • Donate your time by providing the auction with gift certificates for professional services such as electrical, plumbing, landscaping design, etc.
  • Sponsor pay to play parties for adults or children

Keep your eyes open to ideas as you are out and about shopping and enjoying much needed time with your family and friends over the Christmas break.  The ideas are endless!

We appreciate you accepting the call from our donation committee, and your support to make our auction, and our school - the very best it can be!
