Pledge Fund Update

We have reason to celebrate our Pledge Fund Drive!

First, thanks to the families who have completed their pledge forms! Your contributions support our classrooms & our kids!

Our goal for the Pledge Fund was $40,000. This year, we have raised .... (drum roll, please):

$39,100 in pledges or 98% of our goal,

and 62% of our families have participated!

Participation percentage is an important number - grant donors want to see at least an 80% family participation percentage when considering gifts to our school.

Per class, participation percentage breaks down as follows (a family's pledge counts for all their children's classrooms):

Grade

Day

Teacher

IT'S NOT TOO LATE to contribute - we'd love to reach our 80% participation goal! We'll make it easy!

Can't gift the entire suggested donation?

  • We welcome all gifts of all amounts and ANY gift benefits our participation percentage!

Don't have time to drop off the form?

Invoices for payments will be coming via email. Year end tax receipts will be emailed in January for payments made by year's end.

Thanks again for making the Pledge Fund Drive such a success!

Join Us!

Join our committees of parents, teachers, School Board members and administrators in making some wonderful things happen for GSLS!

There is so much that we love about GSLS. There are also wonderful opportunities & so many wishes that we all have for our school, our classrooms & teachers, and ultimately for our kids.

An initial brainstorm meeting took place in August that included 25 Parent Association parent leaders to develop ideas as a jumping-off point. At this week's special, evening PA meeting, we repeated the exercise to include everyone in attendance. Our objective was to brainstorm & align around a focused list of initiatives for all parts of our school that will allow us to THRIVE not only this year, but into the future!! The conversation was lively, the energy was incredibly positive and the evening resulted in some wonderful ideas.

See the attached recap of these all-school initiatives and the ideas to achieve them. In future meetings, teams made up of parents, teachers, our school board members and our administrative team will continue to brainstorm, research and create proposals to be approved by the appropriate folks in order to execute.

We'd love your involvement! Take a look at the attached initiative list, and contact Joe Covert by Thursday, December 8th, (at jcovert@restorationhardware.com) to join one of the teams! We'll be organizing and getting started soon!

With Pledge Fund coming to a close, fundraising efforts such as Spring Auction, and a portion of the PA funds in reserve, will be directed to supporting these proposals to be implemented ASAP!

Looking forward to working together and amazing things to come!
