To the Book Fair and Beyond!

BacktotopThe day is finally here, and we are in full swing. There are lots of great, NEW books for everyone!  Take off on an adventure, make new friends, share a few laughs!  This is your opportunity to share your love of books with your children, show your appreciation for your child's teacher, or find a little something for the holidays, classroom holiday book exchange, or yourself. 

 

We have a large collection for preschool through the teen years, as well as for adults.  Visit us in the Fellowship Hall; you will not believe the transformation. 

 

Hours:

Friday, 10/7 Opening Day - 8:00 - 5:00

Saturday, 10/8 - 11:00 - 3:00

Sunday,   10/9 -  9:00 - 1:00

Monday 10/10 through Friday 10/14 - 8:00-1:00

 

Mark your calendars and do not miss out on Family Night, Tuesday, Oct. 11. Preschoolers are invited early, from 5:00-6:30 for story time, face painting, and snacks.  K-8th are invited at 6:30 to join in on the fun of face painting by our own middle school kids, dessert, and some friendly competition.  All are encouraged to come in your pajamas.

GSLC 11am Service on  Sunday, October 9!!! 

All GSLS students, staff and families are invited to attend Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on October 9 at the 11 AM service.  Our students will be singing, greeting, ushering, and other responsibilities in the worship service.  In addition, our 3rd grade students will be presented with Bibles from the church.  This is a very special service and we hope you all can attend.

K - MS Parent/Teacher Conferences...No Hot Lunch service offered from 10/10 to 10/14!

Due to the minimum days, NO Hot Lunch!!

 

There is NO hot lunch service the week of 10-10 through 10-14. If your child stays for Extended Care, please send a bag lunch all week.

 
 
Please mark your calendars from Oct.10-14th, Kindergarten through 8th grade will have minimum days for the week of Parent/Teacher conferences.

Yearbook Reminder - Reservation & Scrapbook Page Forms are due October 14th

Our 2011 - 2012 Yearbook is well underway! Be sure to turn in your Yearbook & Scrapbook Pages Reservation forms (no checks yet, just forms!) to the Yearbook Box outside the Elementary School Office or in the Middle School by October 14th! Forms came home in Friday folders on September 23rd, or can be printed at home by clicking here.

K-5th EARLY ARRIVING CHILDREN 

 

While on GSLS campus, children must always be in the care of an adult.  Classrooms and teachers are not available to receive children until 8:20am.  Children who arrive to school without an adult before 8:20am need to be signed into our Extended Care program.

Milk Sold at K-5 Lunch Break

 

Dear Parents,  Clover organic lowfat milk will be sold  on the playground at lunch each day for 50 cents.  The children that already paid for a hot lunch with Good Earth, receive milk with their lunch.  The other students that bring a lunch from home are able to purchase cold milk for 50 cents a cup which will cover the cost of milk and cups.  If parents prefer, they can pay a monthly $10.  Please send your child with cash or check.

Gift Wrap Update 

Thank you to everyone that has contributed to what is sure to be our biggest Gift Wrap Event ever! 

 

  • Order forms were due October 7th, but can be turned in at the latest, by Tuesday, October 11th

October Parent's Association Meeting Date Change 

October's PA meeting is moving from Wednesday the 12th to Wednesday the 19th.

 

We will meet as usual in the Fellowship Hall at 8:45am on the 19th.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

Volunteer Needed - Escrip Coordinator

We need someone who is detail oriented, has good computer skills and good communication skills to take over the position of Escrip Coordinator.

 

This person will be responsible for new family data entry to the escrip website, yearly Safeway renewal for all families, and occasional newsletter entries reminding families of scrip events (like the yearly 10% back to school promotion). Someone who has new ideas on how to grow our escrip family database would be ideal.  

 

This position can be done completely from home; busiest times are the end of July and October.  This job can be done completely from home; this will fill your yearly volunteer requirement.
