Garden Program Donations
Thank you so much to the Kindergarten families that have made a huge donation to the school garden program. Mrs. Weiser had done a "shout out" to all the families in her classroom and within 10 minutes had already received responses! This spring the children and I have built 3 new planter boxes that hold a lot of soil. The donations have come in the form of bags of soil, flowers, veggie starts, watering cans, seeds, cash, Armstrong Garden Center and Home Depot gift cards. Gift cards are wonderful because I can use them when needed. If you are visiting a garden center, consider picking up an extra 6-pack of veggies, flowers, gloves, or soil for the school garden.
Special thanks to the Aldridge, Bell, Cannan, Chelini, Hoburg, Nogueiro, Page, and Mullarkey families.
I appreciate your generosity and commitment to the program.
Sincerely,
Mary Schmitz

Scrip Gift Card Liquidation ~
** Place your special orders now!
** Win either $100 or $200 Safeway Card!
After much consideration the decision has been made to no longer sell scrip gift cards. The majority (75%) of our income from scrip comes from escrip (Safeway card registration). We understand that the gift cards have been a valuable customer service to many people throughout the years, but unfortunately the income doesn't justify the huge amount of volunteer hours that are required to order, sell and manage the program.
We know we have many loyal customers who would like a chance to stock up before the end of the year. This is a great time to order gift cards to use this summer (just think how many trips to Starbucks, Peets, Matt & Jeffs, Shell or Safeway you will be making; also ITunes, Lands End, Whole Foods and more)!! To place your special order for scrip, please contact Paula Knight at peapknight@yahoo.com (by Monday, June 6th).
For the remaining stock that is in our famous "scrip box" - we will be having a raffle to offer an incentive to clean us out of stock! Starting May 31st, for every $25 in scrip cards that you buy (including special orders), you will receive an entry into a raffle to win a $100 safeway gift card. If we sell out of scrip by the end of the raffle, we will double the prize to a $200 safeway card! We will be selling in the parking lot on our regular days and times: 6/1, 2, 8, 9 (from 8:10 to 9:00). Raffle ends at 4:00 on June 9th. The raffle winner will be drawn on the 10th. Good luck.
Many thanks go out to our scrip team, who have devoted so much time and effort to this major fundraising campaign for so many years. Thank you Tricia Anderson, Paula Knight and Nicole Kropelnicki! Please contact Joe Covert (jcovert@restorationhardware.com) or Susan Hall (Susan.Hall@GoodShepherdLutheran.org) if you have any questions or feedback. Thank you. Back to Top |
