Going Green...Reduce Your use of Plastic | |
Dear Families,
The Student Council has been busy this year helping protect the environment by encouraging you to reduce your use of plastic. First we were able to get a donation of metal water bottles. Now, we've decorated and given you canvas bags to encourage you to use them instead of plastic bags when you shop. Profits from the student store were used to purchase the bags. Please reduce your reliance on plastic!

PARENTS, TEENS and the LAW

The Marin County Bar Association, in collaboration with the Marin County Office of Education, is hosting a free public forum for parents and teens to learn about their rights and responsibilities on issues directly relating to teens and their families on May 18, 2011. This event will be held at the Marin County Office of Education, 1111 Las Gallinas Avenue, San Rafael from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Topics will include: Marin County Social Host Ordinance, Teens, Sex and the Law, Bullying, and Teens, Drugs, and the Law. Discussions will be led by a distinguished panel of legal experts who will share valuable information and answer your questions. Parent's Association Raffle

To add to the fun of the Pasta Feast, we are having a raffle with lots of great prizes (you do not need to be present to win). Important detail about the raffle: 100% of the proceeds go directly to the classrooms! All prizes have been donated - everything goes to the classrooms. Think of the amazing things we can do for our teachers and our kids (books! art supplies! mare week! assemblies! technology!....).

Bake Sale Donations Needed for Pasta Feast

As part of our pasta feast we will be having a "family style" bake sale. We will be selling desserts that can be bought and shared with your entire table. We are asking for donations of cakes, pies, cupcakes or trays of cookies. We will need approximately 30 donations, to be brought to the Margaret Todd Center between 3:00 and 4:00 on May 21st (arrangements can be made to drop at another time).
