SAFETY CONCERN

Traffic is a huge concern at Good Shepherd, and we have had a few close calls at the Lynwood campus already this school year.  For the safety of our students, staff, and school families it is extremely important that all drivers observe the 5 miles per hour speed limit at all times while entering, driving through, and leaving the campus.

 THANK YOU!

A very special thank you goes to our K-5th grade student council who wrote a letter to the GAIAM organization requesting 180 metal water bottles for our school and received them.  We also received a letter from the Building Better Citizens for American organization thanking Good Shepherd for writing thank you cards for their Stars & Stripes ~ Vets & Cadets program.  Way to go Good Shepherd students and staff.  Thank you for making the world a better place.

Watershed Restoration Project

On December 3rd the 7th grade and their 5th grade buddies along with 8th grade and their 1st grade buddies were involved in a restoration project at the Sonoma Bayland off of Hwy 37.  This is the second year the middle school has teamed up with buddy classes at the elementary school.  The goal is to help restore the watershed and help the endangered animals.  The students worked together to plant native plants so the endangered animals have a place to live.

Scrip Gift Card Sales

Every day next week!
December 13 to December 17
8:15 to 8:45
In the parking lot

For the busy shopping week leading up to winter break, we will be selling gift cards every day in the parking lot.  Perfect way to get some holiday shopping in without even having to head to the mall.  Avoid the crowds and traffic, get your gift cards at GSLS.  We earn an average of 8% of the face value of the card, and that amount really adds up.

Stocking Stuffer Ideas:
$2 Gift Cards: Baskin Robbins
$10 Gift Cards: Barnes & Noble, Bath & Bodyworks, Starbucks, Claires, Burger King, California Pizza Kitchen, Chuck E Cheese
$13.50 Gift Card; Sees Candy
$15 Gift Card: ITunes
Take a moment to consider these simple facts:
- We have 250 families at GSLS
- If each family is planning on buying only one $25 gift card this holiday season, that totals $6250 in gift cards being purchased
- If those cards were purchased from GSLS, we would earn $500 for our school.
- Are you planning on buying more than $25 in gift cards?  Think about the impact you can make!
Also available for sale (only $1 each) are holiday gift card holders and pop-up birthday cards - your gift and wrapping all in one spot.
Please print this off as a reminder!

See attached for complete listing of cards available (more than 80 options).  Happy Shopping!
