NEWS UPDATE  October 8, 2010

Greetings!

I would like to thank all of you for attending the Planning Commission meeting on October 4 and speaking in support of our middle school permit expansion. Your kind and heartfelt words made such a great difference in the outcome of the proceedings.

We are grateful for your continued support and dedication to our middle school program. This is a victory for all of us, but truly the real winners are the students of GSMS.

Thank you,

Susan Hall

 News

  • Monday Oct. 11th is Columbus Day, AND A SCHOOL DAY FOR GOOD SHEPHERD!!
  • All visitors are to sign-in near the front office and wear a visitor's ID badge.  All classroom volunteers are to sign the volunteer log book in each classroom and wear a volunteer badge.
  • Please double check that your child has only their clothing items and not another child's .  If you are missing any items please check the Lost and Found bin at either the School House or the Grammar School playground.
  • At our chapel last week, we had a visit from the recipient of our chapel donations for this year, Gilead House.  It is "a place of hope for moms and children to go to due to homelessness."  Gilead House is in Novato and they provide a house for families to live in, food/regular meals, and support for moms to go to school and get an education so that they can take better care of their children and become independent.  The transitional housing teaches families to become self-reliant and they greatly need our help, so thank you so much for your weekly donations.  One hundred percent of your contributions go to this very needy cause.  The representative spoke to the children about Gilead House and then we watched a brief presentation by some of the children who have lived at Gilead House and wanted to thank us for helping them.  It was very special to see actual faces of people who have been touched by our generosity.
  • To All Middle School Families:  Community Service Forms are being sent home, please check with your child or their backpacks.  Also, please check your mail boxes for a Middle School letter being sent home this week.
