Greetings!

Thank you to the 35% of GSLS preschool and K to 7th grade parents that have given to the Annual Fund.  Nationally, the average is 80% participation.  We have a way to go to match what other schools do but we are getting there.  
 
I have been asked if there is a big difference between preschool and K to 7th grade family donations.  No, they are very close.  26% of preschool families and 37% of K to 7th grade families have given to the Annual Fund.  We still need to motivate the two-thirds of parents that have not given to the Annual Fund.  Please remember, a donation can be made online on our website 24/7 or by clicking the link below.  The Annual Fund is our school's #1 fundraising priority and is tax deductible. 
 
On March 18th, GSLS Dads will be calling GSLS families that have not made a donation to the 2009 - 2010 Annual Fund Campaign.  If you haven't made a donation yet, please wecome our callers.
 
May 22nd will be our last Annual Fund event, The Pasta Feast, at the Margaret Todd Center.  Mark your calendars.  Invitations are coming.

 
Annual Fund 2009 - 2010
As you may know, we rely on monetary support from our school parents, grandparents, church members, school board, faculty, staff, and alumni families to assist Good Shepherd Lutheran School in fulfilling its mission.  The Annual Fund is our school's #1 fundraising priority.  It allows the school to pay for planned major expenditures with a timeline of one to five years in the future.   
 
It is our goal to raise $78,300 by June 10th.
 
Projects under consideration by the School Board are:
- Preschool shade structure and upgrades to the 3's playground
- Classroom technology updates
- Computer server for K to 5th grades 
- Middle school expansion
- Tuition scholarships
- Schoolwide data management system

You can donate to the GSLS Annual Fund with a credit card.  We are suggesting donation amounts of $1000, $500, $250, or $100.  Other donation amounts are always welcomed.  Please remember, a charitable donation to the school is tax deductible.

Parent Participation is the Key
 
This school year we will be applying for various grants and endowments.  One of the most powerful messages we can take to outside funding sources is that 100% of our parents support our school financially.
