For all of you - especially living in Alberta - who are officially sick of this cold, snowy weather say "AYE! AYE!"
On the bright side, evenings are noticeably longer and brighter, spring flowers, while not growing outside yet, are available to purchase in stores. There is nothing quite like a bunch of fresh tulips on the table to herald springtime!
Grant had a great time at the Vancouver Playhouse Wine Festival. You can read about some of his experiences.
April is such a busy month this year. Both Easter and Passover are quite late. We hope you get together and enjoy a weekend, a meal or two and of course share some delicious wines with friends and family. Ask us what you would like to drink with your celebration. College students are bleary-eyed from pulling all-nighters studying for and writing exams. The much anticipated Royal Wedding date is approaching (29 April) and even if you aren't a Monarchist, romantics will enjoy the Prince marrying his beautiful Queen-to-Be. I know many of you are having a Royal Wedding party so be sure to pick up some of the limited edition Prince William Royal Wedding Champagne and your free tiara (!!) which will be available in store on April 21st. It's a collectors item!
Oh, and let's not forget Stanley Cup Playoffs..........
Welcome Stephen and Nathan - our new employees! |

2007 Wind Gap Syrah Sonoma Coast Griffins Lair
Typical of most California Syrah, the Wind Gap Griffins Lair is a medium to full bodied wine that offers up abundant fruit. Blackberries dominate, with touches of tar and herbal notes intermixed. The wine has nice tannic structure and is certainly capable of ageing for at least five to ten years. While ageworthy, it is also drinking quite well right now.
Grape Variety: 100% Syrah
Wine Spectator Score: 92 pts
Serve With: Steak and other grilled red meats, stews, sausages |
