St. Luke's NEW Photo Directory coming soon!
Spring is here, summer is around the corner and once again we are
reminded that the only constant is change!
Our last Parish Directory was published in 2001 and going through it is a trip down memory lane. A lot has changed since then. As a result, this summer we are planning to update the St. Luke's Parish Directory.
After much deliberation, we have decided to do a computerized directory. This will allow us to easily update the directory when needed. We will also be able to take the photographs ourselves! The directory will not be on our website but you will be able to obtain an electronic copy (PDF) to have on your own computer. If all this is sounding like a foreign language, not to worry, you will be able to order a printed copy of the directory for a small fee. Our parish picnic is Sunday June 10th and on that day we will begin taking family and individual photographs for the new directory. The photos will be taken by Rachel and Jay Phillippi and Miguel Covarrubias. We are looking for one more volunteer photographer. If you have a camera and like to take pictures, you qualify. There will be other opportunities to have your picture taken. You may also submit your own family photo, just remember we want headshots with big smiles. If you are interested in being one of our photographers call Cilla Menzies (763-4331). |

The mission of the
United Thank Offering is to
expand the circle of thankful people ...
Make MAY UTO Month! Are you thankful for something this week, that hadn't happened last week? What might you thank God for next week?
Near the chancel steps in church (and on the table at the back of the chapel), you'll find a large blue UTO box - hungry to hear about your blessings. As you come forward to receive Jesus' Body and Blood, put a donation into the box and whisper your prayer of thanksgiving. For the kids, our "Feed my Lambs" station is back. Put in some money each week and when we've got at least $100, the kids can pick out animals from ERD's "catalog" to donate to a needy family somewhere in the world.
We have so much to be thankful for in our lives. Show a sign of your gratitude by feeding the Blue Box or the children's Sheep. Checks can be made out to St. Luke's and noted "UTO." Our diocesan coordinator, Lynne Smith, then makes sure all the WNY funds collected in the Spring and Fall reach their destination, the grants funding for good works worldwide. Thank you! |

May 20, Jana McDermott,
Sunday, May 27 is Memorial Day Weekend We are inviting any and all of our parishioners who have served in the military - as well as those who have had a son or daughter in the military - to join in discussion and to share their viewpoints of the "evolution" of our military and what that might mean for the United States and beyond. We have folks who have served from the 1940's to present and the different perspectives will be quite intriguing. Please join us.
