Our Next Retreat is February 4:
"Soul Gardening" | |
During this year St. Luke's is offering a series of retreats aimed at Discovering/Rediscovering the Presence of God in your life. It is our hope and expectation that every member of the church will make every effort to attend at least one of these retreats.
We are thrilled to welcome back to St. Luke's the Rev. Banu Moore, ObLSB, the founder of Soul-full arts studio and press. She is leading a retreat called "SOUL GARDENING: Cultivating the seeds of Life -- An Intergenerational Retreat for Seeing, Listening and Creating." It will be held in the church's undercroft this next Saturday, February 4 from 9:30 am--2:00 pm. Coffee and registration will start at 9:00 am and lunch will be included. This retreat is open to adults and youth in grades 7 and up. The cost is $10.
This retreat is an invitation to creative prayer - a part of God's activity in and through us...While cultivating seeds for our lives we will engage in activities individually and as a community to guide us in a prayer life which is fresh... satisfying... challenging... joy-filled... imaginative... penetrating... adventurous!
God does not intend our prayer life to be dull, passive and stale! Prayer is not something we do, but it is who we are with and in Christ... It is the essence of life with God... Mother Theresa wrote, "Prayer is not asking. Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God, at God's disposition, and listening to God's voice in the depths of our hearts." During this retreat while tending your soul garden you will have a chance to:
· Walk the labyrinth · Make prayer flags
· Begin a soul collage · Play with beads
· Braid your prayers · Make a gratitude journal....
Call the office at 483-6405 to register today. |

Do you write letters? | |
Letter Writing Campaign
Whenever I think of getting a handwritten letter I think of the warm fuzzy feeling of knowing that someone cares enough about me to actually sit down and take the time to think of what they would like to say to me and do so.
Pre-addressed and stamped envelopes are available on the YOUTH bulletin board in the undercroft. Take one, or two, or as many as you would like, choose a teen you would like to write a note to; there are about 35 names. We would like to have 35 congregation members to be a part of this project also! |
|
St. Agnes Altar Guild | |
ALTAR FLOWERS
Anyone desiring to place flowers on our Sunday altars as a memorial or thanksgiving is welcome to sign up. The cost for the two vases is $60. A Sunday may be shared by two or more people to help defray the cost. You may request specific flowers (subject to their availability, and possible extra cost). To sign-up for a Sunday, check the Flower Board in the undercroft by the stage, or for more information, call the church office - 483-6405.

St. Agnes Altar Guild will hold their quarterly meeting On Monday, February 6th at 7 pm on the stage area of the undercroft. |
|
CHURCH CALENDARS | |
Liturgical Church Calendars are available at the church office for a cost of $3 each. Liturgical calendars depict the colored seasons of the church year, principal feast days, Sundays, and special days of devotion, and are fun to follow.
